Smith vs Bauderlique Announced for Usyk-Joshua II Undercard
It has been officially announced that Callum Smith vs Mathieu Bauderlique would take place at the Usyk vs Joshua II undercard on August 20.
Matchroom Boxing won the purse bid for this fight and Eddie Hearn posted a tweet confirming that the final eliminator for the WBC world light heavyweight title would take place at one of the biggest boxing events of this year.
Callum Smith last entered the ring against Lenin Castillo and won the bout in the second round via TKO. It was his rebound from the loss against Canelo Alvarez back in 2020.
On the other hand, Mathieu Bauderlique emerged victorious in his past nine bouts. On top of that, he won his last three fights via stoppage. His most recent win came against Igor Mikhalkin.
Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua II is billed as “Rage of the Red Sea” and would take place at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
