Terrence “The Bud” Crawford holds WBO Welterweight Championship while Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. holds WBA(super), WBC and IBF Welterweight titles.

A fight between them has been an exciting prospect for boxing fans ever since Spence became a double champion by defeating Shawn Porter in September 2019. With Crawford now a free agent, the prospect for this bout was revisited after Spence defeated Yordenis Ugas to add WBA(super) title. With discussions ongoing, it looks like the bout is about to be finalized now.

Reporter Dan Rafael is reporting that a deal for Spence vs Crawford is nearing completion. He also added that the fight is expected to take place on November 12 or November 19 likely in Las Vegas, with the winner of the bout becoming the undisputed champion of the Welterweight division.

Spence’s Promoter PBC is expected to be the main promoter for this event. Rafael also reported that PBC is already looking to add WBA(regular) Welterweight Champion Eimantas Stanionis for the undercard.

Being undisputed is not new for Crawford as he is a former undisputed champion at the Light Welterweight division. Crawford defeated Julius Indongo to win WBA(super) and IBF Light Welterweight titles to his WBC and WBO titles in August 2017.

Crawford then moved up and defeated Jeff Horn to win WBO’s Welterweight title in June 2018. He has since defended the title five times with his most recent bout coming against Shawn Porter in November 2021.

Spence first won the IBF Welterweight title from Kell Brook in May 2017, which he has defended six times until now. He later defeated Shawn Porter to add WBC title to his rank before also winning WBA(super) title from Yordenis Ugás in April this year.
