Liam Smith vs Chris Eubank Jr Set for Jan 21 in Manchester
It’s been officially confirmed that one of the most anticipated middleweight bouts between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr would take place on January 21 next year in Manchester.
The bout will be organized by Boxxer and Wasserman Boxing, and the promotions officially confirmed the date and venue for this clash by posting a tweet.
The tweet reads that two of the biggest Britain boxing names will collide to kick off the next year and will put their careers on the line. Initially, it was rumored that Liam Smith vs Chris Eubank Jr would take place on December 17.
Chris Eubank Jr hasn’t lost a match since 2018. He is on a six-fight winning streak and is coming off a win against Liam Williams earlier this year in February. Before defeating him, he registered wins against Wanik Awdijan and Marcus Morrison as well.
On the other hand, Liam Smith who belongs to a boxing family is on a three-fight winning streak. He has defeated Hassan Mwakinyo, Jessie Vargas, and Anthony Fowler in his last three matches after losing against Magomed Kurbanov.
Smith is Eubank’s toughest challenge in the past few years. Whereas Smith will also test his skills as beating Chris Eubank Jr won’t be a piece of cake.
Now, it remains to be seen who will leave the AO Arena in Manchester with victory on January 21, 2023.
