Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero which was supposed to happen last year in December. However, weeks before the bout, Romero was accused of sexual assault. After a complaint was lodged and investigation started, Showtime acted quickly to replace him with Isaac Cruz.
Davis defended the title against Isaac Cruz and went on to win the bout easily. Romero was cleared of charges earlier this year after investigators did not find him in any wrongdoing. So, Davis has agreed to revisit the originally scheduled bout on May 28 now.
Both Rolando Romero and Gervonta Davis are undefeated so far and have won most of their matches via knockout. Gervonta Davis is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Isaac Cruz whereas Rolando Romero last defeated Anthony Yigit via TKO in the seventh round.
One of these fighters will finally get their first professional boxing loss when they collide against each other at the Barclays Center on May 28.
