IBF Ordered Filip Hrgovic vs Andy Ruiz Interim Heavyweight Title Bout
Filip Hrgovic and Andy Ruiz will square off against each other very soon.
IBF has ordered an interim heavyweight title bout between Filip Hrgovic and Andy Ruiz with a 30-day free negotiation period.
Filip Hrgovic is backed by Wasserman Boxing and Matchroom Boxing, whereas Andy Ruiz represents TGB Promotions.
Initially, IBF ordered Hrgovic to face Oleksandr Usyk, and Hrgovic’s side even demanded an immediate purse bid hearing. However, then IBF realized that WBA was next in line for the rotation of the mandatory challengers.
Then the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury for the heavyweight title is targeted for later this year in the United Kingdom.
However, Filip Hrgovic was granted permission to compete for the interim IBF heavyweight title. As a result, now he will face Andy Ruiz with the venue and location yet to be decided.
