Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero Results- Main Event Live Blog
Gervonta Davis and Rolando Romero will finally clash on the second try on May 28, 2022 with Davis’ WBA(regular) Lightweight title on the line. We will be here with the complete results from prelims and main card.
Both Davis and Romero remain undefeated in their respective career so far and both have been knockout artists. Davis although had to go the distance when he defended the title against Issac Cruz in December last year. Whose undefeated streak will be over tonight? In the co-main event, Erislandy Lara returns after 14 months to defend his WBA(regular) Middleweight title against Gary O’Sullivan. Jesus Ramos takes on Luke Santamaria in a super welterweight bout while Eduardo Ramirez will open the card against Luiz Melendez in a super featherweight bout. Two matches are scheduled for the prelims airing on Showtime’s Youtube channel.

Main Event Live Updates
Gervonta Davis(c) vs Rolando Romero -WBA(Regular) Lightweight title bout
The undercard is done. We are now waiting for the main event to start in 10-15 minutes.
Romero has walked out for the main event. Davis follows him out shortly. No shenanigans in both entrances.
Round 1: Romero starts by measuring the distance. Both men are very cautious. Davis hits the first body shot. Romero goes for a jab and manages to force Davis to backpaddle a bit, but he has failed to connect it. Davis connects a quick right jab, but Romero avoids the follow-up shot. Davis ducks a big punch and they get in a clinch briefly. Romero connects a cross and Davis catches him in counter with a right.
Round 2: Romero is once again trying to measure his range while Davis is still in downloading data mode. Romero lands a left hook and Davis gets close, leading to Romero landing more on his body. Davis gets to the floor in the tussle, but it is not a knockdown. Davis sneaks in a left of his own. He connects a good left just as the round ends.
Round 3: Romero reaches out with a jab at the body. He hits a combo a few seconds later. Davis lands a left hook. Romero also sneaks in a right as he attempts his combinations. Davis lands a right on the head and a left on the body.
Round 4: The first minute goes by without anything happening. Davis goes for left and Romero counters with an uppercut attempt. Davis connects a combo on the body. Romero lands a right on the head. Davis stings him with a left. He attempts a combo on the body a while later.
Round 5: Davis lands a left. Romero counters with his jab. Davis ducks a right and lands his left jab. They trade shots a couple of times. Romero hits a right as Davis attempts a body shot. The referee has to intervene on Romero.
Round 6: Romero’s shot lands a bit low and the referee halts it for a few seconds. Jabs here and there in the first two minutes. Suddenly, Romero charges in and Davis counters to knock him down with a left. The referee has stopped this as Romero is loopy.
