Christian Gomez vs Shakhram Giyasov Added to Canelo-Bivol Undercard
Christian Gomez vs Shakhram Giyasov Welterweight bout for the IBF North American title has been officially added to the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol.Β
The bout will be a part of the DAZN pay-per-view event which is set to take place on May 7, 2022, at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.Β
Giyasov will move to the Welterweight division in an effort to win the vacant IBF North American title. He is still undefeated and is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Cristian Rafael Coria. His most memorable win was against Darleys Perez as he defeated the latter in just 30 seconds.Β
Meanwhile, Christian Gomez is coming off a second-round TKO victory against Javier Franco. Gomez gained great momentum as he managed to win most of his recent bouts with a finish.Β
Shakhram Giyasov also stated that he is honored to be a part of the Canelo-Bivol undercard. He also thinks this bout will begin a new chapter in his career as it will be the first time he will compete in the Welterweight division.Β
