Anthony Joshua Signs Long-Term Deal with DAZN After Quitting Sky Sports
Former two-time Boxing Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua has officially quit Sky Sports and signed a new long-term deal with the streaming service DAZN.
Anthony Joshua himself announced this news by sharing a tweet on his official handle. He described this deal as a new phase in his career as he has also changed his training team after his loss to Oleksandr Usky.
According to several reports, the deal is worth $100 Million a year with Joshua having two fights per year on DAZN pay-per-view. Last year, his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing inked a deal with DAZN but that deal didn’t include Anthony Joshua.
Joshua stated that he is entering a new phase in his career and is pleased that the negotiations are finally wrapped up because it takes time, especially at this level. Now, he will be focusing on giving the fans some knockouts in the glamour division.
Not only this, but Anthony Joshua will also become a special advisor to DAZN and get some shares in the company as well.
Joshua’s last match ended in a losing effort against Oleksandr Usyk where he dropped IBF, WBO and WBA(super) titles to the Ukrainian boxer. He has a rematch coming up but its date and venue haven’t been confirmed yet. It is rumored that the rematch might take place on July 23 in Saudi Arabia.
