Just 8 days back, we had a WWE PPV and we will have another go-home edition for another PPV in Elimination Chamber. And as it has been the norm, a gauntlet match is gonna determine who will enter last in the Elimination Chamber match. There will hardly be anything else towards building for the PPV. But, there will be so much on the road to WrestleMania.
A Momen of Bliss with nWo
The show starts with the recap of John Cena’s appearance last week on SmackDown and how the Fiend put the WrestleMania challenge for him. The theme song is done and the commentary team is showing us tonight’s line-up. We cut to the ring where Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross are set for “A Moment of Bliss.” Bliss puts out a challenge for WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Kabuki Warriors for WrestleMania.
Bliss runs through the announced line-up for WWE Hall of Fame 2020- Batista, JBL, Bella Twins and NWO. Tonight’s guests are from nWo – Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Sean “X-Pac” Waltman. They head out wearing nWo t-shirts and using their old music. As they get seated, Cross goes on and takes a selfie with nWo. Bliss goes on and brings up how they once feuded with WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg. Nash mentions talking to Roman Reigns earlier this week and jokes about using a caddle prod to beat him at WrestleMania 36.
Shinsuke Nakamura’s music hits. Nakamura, Sami Zayn and Cesaro come out. Zayn has the mic and he ridicules nWO for being the thing of the past and we should think about the future, which is them. They enter the ring as Sami continues to run his mouth. Sami takes shot at Waltman, saying he carried the bags for others in his career. Waltman stands up and gets in Sami’s face. Sami says they could drop the nWo in seconds. The nWo stands up and faces off with Cesaro, Zayn and Nakamura now. Sami backs down and says nWo won’t get the rub from then and they are currently focused on destroying Braun.
Sami, Nakamura and Cesaro are outside of the ring now when Strowman’s music hits. Cesaro runs up the ramp to attacks him and gets launched into the LED. Nakamura gets headbutted and launched into the barrier. Sami runs back into the ring but is trapped now between nWo and Braun. Sami puts Bliss in front of him to save himself and escapes to the floor. Braun throws a chair at him from the ring. Sami, Cesaro and Nakamura look on from the ramp as Braun takes the mic to promise that all three will “get these hands” on Sunday. The nWo joins Braun at the mic as he says it will be “too sweet!” this Sunday. The nWo music hits to end the segment.
Bayley & Sasha Banks vs Lacey Evans & Naomi
Sasha runs to tag in Bayley right away and Evans runs after her. Banks and Bayley double team Evans in their corner with some punches. Bayley unloads on Evans now alone before tagging in Sasha. They go after Naomi at the ringside now and crash her in the barricade. Naomi is selling her shoulder as we go to the commercial.
Back from the break and Banks has Evans grounded, working on her leg. Bayley with another quick tag and a 2 count. We see the flashes across the screen, the glitches that have been airing as of late. Evans finally gets free from Bayley but both opponents stop her from tagging.
Evans rolls Banks out of the ring, and tags in Naomi. Naomi sends both opponents to the floor and flies over the top with a corkscrew plancha. Naomi brings Banks back in and flies at her with a crossbody for a close 2 count. Naomi with kicks to Banks now. Banks catches a kick and nails one of her own to the face. Naomi drops Banks with a kick. Naomi bulldogs Banks into the middle turnbuckle.
Naomi flies into a sunset flip but Bayley breaks the pin up just in time as fans boo. Evans runs in and drops Bayley but Banks dropkicks Evans’ knee and then dropkicks her to the floor. Naomi drops Banks again. Bayley interferes, allowing Banks to stop the split-legged moonsault from Naomi. Banks with the double knees in the corner, dropping Naomi down into a roll-up for the pin to win.
