WWE RAW May 23, 2022 Results & Live Updates(w/ Card & Preview)

WWE RAW episode of May 23, 2022, will feature the first-ever All-Mighty Challenge and Cody Rhodes will also be in action as the show continue to build up towards Hell in a Cell 2022 event. The event will air live from the Ford Center in Evansville, IN.

Bobby Lashley would host MVP and Omos in the first-ever All-Mighty Challenge. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes is set to collide against The Miz in a singles match. Becky Lynch will address her loss to Asuka last week. Expect more from Mustafa Ali, Veer Mahaan, Austin Theory and RK-Bro.

Riddle Addresses Tag Team Title Loss

The show opens with a recap of The Usos defeating RK-Bro to become the unified tag team champions. Riddle comes out to the ring and cuts an emotional promo. He tells us that Randy has had a bad back for the last couple of months. He says he loves Randy and Randy has done more for him than anyone else. He calls Roman Head of Garbage for interfering in the match and costing them the title. He promises that he will get his vengeance against Roman and The Usos before the end of his career. He closes the promo by getting an RK-Bro chant started.

After the break, we get the lineup for tonight. Street Profits make their entrance for the match. Sami Zayn follows them. The Usos cut a promo from the Gorilla Position before coming out. Riddle and Profits attack the Usos and Sami on the stage. Crew gets things under control before we cut to another break.

Riddle, Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins vs Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso

Dawkins starts against Sami. Sami shows off with The Bloodline’s pose. Dawkins hits a big tackle. He follows with a dropkick and a corner splash. Ford comes in and puts on an arm wringer. Riddle tags in and knock off The Usos from the apron. Sami attacks him from behind. Sami starts to work on Riddle’s injured ribs. Sami wraps his legs around Riddle’s ribs.

Riddle hits back elbows on Sami. Jey comes in and Riddle takes him down with a double leg. He hits sidekicks and fishermen’s suplex before tagging in Ford. Ford hits a clothesline on Jey. Jimmy takes a blind tag and the Usos double team on Ford. Ford is sent to the floor where Jimmy hits him with a superkick and then sends him into the steel steps. We cut to a break.

Sami is working on Ford as we return. Ford hits elbows to ribs but Sami slams him to the mat. Ford counters with a side slam. Sami knocks off Dawkins from the apron while Jey trips Riddle to the mat and drops him on the barricade. Sami hits a clothesline on Ford before bringing in Jey. Ford knocks off Sami and Jimmy. He hits an enzuigiri on Jey. Riddle has returned to the apron.

Riddle and Sami come in. Riddle hits a Pele kick on Sami, ripcord knee to Jimmy, corner forearms in the corner to both followed by exploder suplexes and sentons. Dawkins nails The Usos with elbows. Ford takes out The Usos with suicide dives. Riddle hits a draping DDT on Sami. He gets ready for RKO, but The Usos distract them. The Usos then walk out leaving Sami alone. Riddle hits RKO on Sami to get the pin.

Winner – Riddle, Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins

Lashley’s All-Mighty Challenge

Lashley is out in the ring and talks about his feud with Omos and MVP. He says they will go against each others one more at Hell in a Cell. Before that, he has an All-Mighty challenge. He calls out Omos and MVP. They come to the stage and MVP starts to talk. He says Omos is not someone who will just come out at his whim. MVP says Omos beat him all around at Steel Cage match and if it was not for some faulty equipment, Omos would have won.

Lashley cuts him off and says he has a match for tonight’s challenge. He goes on to challenge MVP for a match and the winner will pick the stipulation for the match at Hell in a Cell. Some more back and forth promo follows. Omos and MVP approach the ring and try to surround Lashley. Lashley knocks MVP off the apron. Omos backs off and checks on MVP. MVP starts screaming at Lashley, saying he will be his downfall. The segment ends with Lashley standing tall.

Dana Brooke is backstage with WWE Official Adam Pearce and says she wants Carmella when she is back. Becky Lynch comes in and asks Pearce to strike her last week’s loss off the record since Asuka used Green Mist. Pearce says he could not do that, but he gives Becky a rematch against Asuka tonight, and if Becky wins, she will be added to match at Hell in a Cell to make it triple threat.

Next Member of Judgement Day

Damian Priest starts the promo and asks everyone to rise for Judgement Day. He says Edge picked them up when they did not know about their own abilities. He adds that Edge gave them the courage and that they can give us courage, but we need to stand up for ourselves before that. Rhea takes the mic now and asks Liv Morgan to save herself by joining the Judgement Day like she did.

Edge takes the mic and says the truth sets us free and the Judgement Day is an opportunity to rewrite their fate and learn under him. He compares himself with the likes of Tom Brady, Michael Jordan and others and said he was not handpicked like John Cena to be at the top, but made his way to the top. He then wonders who will be the next member to join them. He names a bunch of people who could be the next like Tomasso Ciampa, Drew McIntyre, Alexa Bliss, Finn Balor, Liv Morgan or AJ Styles.

Edge says AJ should join them and his kids might start to call him Uncle Edge. Liv Morgan and AJ Styles make their entrance for the match.

Liv Morgan & AJ Styles vs Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest – Mixed Tag Team Match

AJ and Priest start the match. Priest hits big shots and goes to work on AJ’s arm. A side headlock takeover from Priest before hitting a shoulder tackle. Priest puts on arm wringer and AJ revereses it. AJ puts on a side headlock. AJ hits a flurry of strikes, ducks Priest and hits a dropkick. Priest tags in Rhea. Liv hits a hurricanrana on Rhea, followed by double knees in the corner. Rhea throws her into the corner and hits big shots. She tosses Liv across the ring. She catches Liv’s crossbody and goes for a vertical suplex.

Morgan counters and hits double knees to the back. Rhea slips to the floor. Priest checks on her. Liv hits a suicide dive on Rhea. AJ hits Priest with a knee from the apron. AJ and Liv pose in the ring. Rhea comes back and hits a big boot. She unloads on Liv with some punches before hitting a delayed vertical suplex. Liv hits back with a hurricanrana. She tags out to AJ.

Priest and AJ trade shots. Priest misses in the corner and AJ hits a flying clothesline. Priest goes to the floor and AJ goes to argue with Rhea. Priest attacks AJ from behind. He pulls AJ to the floor and drops him face-first on the apron. We cut to a break.

AJ ducks a roundhouse kick. Priest stops the tag out. AJ sends him to the apron and hits a Pele kick. AJ tags in Liv. Liv hits quick kicks, a knee in the corner, avoids Rhea in the corner, hits a dropkick and double knees to cover Rhea. Edge puts Rhea’s leg on the rope to break the pin. AJ attacks Edge but Priest saves him. Priest and AJ brawl back to the ring and then back to the floor. Liv goes for the Oblivion but Edge holds Rhea’s ring gear to stop the move. Liv falls back to the mat and Rhea gets the pin easily.

Winner – Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest

After the match, AJ attacks Edge as he gets in the ring. Numbers Game catch up and Judgement Day takes control. Edge hits a spear on AJ. Rhea hits Riptide on Morgan. Judgement Day stands tall and pose for the crowd amid boos.

King’s Court with Veer Mahaan

Lawler tells Veer that he is here to dispel the rumors that he is a man of few words. He asks him about his dominant streak but Veer does not reply. Lawler then asks him why he has targetted The Mysterios since he has come back to RAW. Lawler goes on to joke about Mysterio’s talking about Veer being hairy.

Veer gets angry and tells Lawler that Rey is a legend but he is too busy worrying about his little boy, which has turned him weak. Veer asks Lawler if it is fear that he smells from him. Lawler jokes that it is his face cologne. Veer gets angrier and had enough of the jokes. The Mysterios’ music hits and they come out.

Veer meets them on the ramp and attacks them. He manhandle The Mysterios for a while before they start to hit him with kicks at the apron and do not let him come to the ring. Veer gets frustrated and leaves.

Nikki ASH vs Alexa Bliss

Nikki hits a hip toss. Alexa fires back with a similar move. Nikki offers a handshake and takes a shot at Bliss. Bliss fires back with her punches. Nikki rolls to the floor for a breather. Nikki takes down Bliss and sends her to the corner for a knee. Nikki puts on a shoulder lock. Bliss hits punches to the midsection to break it. Bliss hits more quick moves. Nikki hits shoulder blocks in the corner. She goes for superplex but Alexa fights back with shots of her own. Alexa drops Nikki from the second rope and hits Twisted Bliss to get the win.

Winner – Alexa Bliss

Cody Rhodes vs The Miz

Cody starts with a takedown with a leg pick. Miz hits back with a chop. Cody hits back with a headscissors. Back and forth action continues until Cody hits aa dropkick. Miz blocks Cody’s dive with a right hand. Cody cuts off with a punch and hits a vertical gourdbuster. Cody goes to put on a back stretch but Miz quickly fights out of it. Miz with some knees and then hits flapjacks him to drop Cody on the ropes. Miz boots him to the floor to take us to a break.

Miz misses in the corner as we return. Cody hits a powerslam and Cody Cutter. He puts on the figure four. Miz drags himself and gets to the ropes. Miz goes to the floor for a breather. Cody gets to the top and Seth comes down and pushes him off the top.

Winner – Cody Rhodes

Cody starts to fight Seth, but Miz joins Seth to attack him. Miz and Seth double team on Cody and stomp on him. They send Cody into the steel steps. Cody has injured his knee. Seth goes and takes Cody’s belt from a kid in the front row. Seth goes to whip it on Cody’s back and leaves to the back. Cody recovers and gets back to his feet. He picks up the belt and hobbles to the ramp. He hands the belt to same kind he has given it earlier.

Chad Gable vs Ezekiel

Ezekiel starts on the front foot before some back and forth action. Gable starts to work on Ezekiel’s leg. He keeps Ezekiel grounded for a while. Ezekiel comes back a spinebuster. He hits big chops in the corner. Gable reverses a whip but Ezekiel hits a dropkick. Gable distracts the referee and Otis hits a clothesline on Ezekiel from the apron. The referee catches the wind of it and boots Otis from the ringside. Kevin Owens tries to attack Ezekiel now, but the referee catches him also before he could do any damage. As Owens leaves to the ramp, Ezekiel flips Gable into a pin and gets the three count.

Winner – Ezekiel

After the match, Ezekiel quickly exits into the crowd. Owens takes the mic and challenges him for a match at Hell in a Cell event.

Bobby Lashley vs MVP – Winner Chooses Stipulation at Hell in a Cell

MVP gets out of the ring after a bit of circling to furstrate Lashley. He continues to frustrate Lashley with some stalling tactics. Lashley gets to the floor and MVP gets back in quickly. MVP tries to catch Lashley with a kick but Lashley avoids it. MVP distracts the referee and Omos runs over Lashley with a clothesline. MVP hits a running boot in the corner. He screams at Lashley that he made him. Lashley grabs his neck and goes to hit a flatliner. Lashley clotheslines MVP to the floor.

Lashley drives MVP into the ringpost now. The referee starts to count down. Lashley puts MVP back into the ring at 8. Omos tries to attack Lashley but Lashley ducks him. Lashley sends Omos over the timekeeper’s area but he is counted out but then.

Winner – MVP(via count-out)

After the match, MVP boasts about his win. Lashley comes in and puts him in the Hurt Lock. Lashley stands tall with MVP down in the ring.

Becky Lynch vs Asuka- Becky Will be Added to Hell in a Cell if She Wins

Back and forth shots. Asuka drops Becky with a tackle. Becky hits a kick to her face. Becky hits a big shot. Asuka takes her to the corner and slams her a few times. Asuka trips her after catching her leg. Asuka goes for the disarmher but Becky quickly reaches the ropes. Becky goes to the floor. Asuka follows her and Becky drops her on the floor to take us to the break.

Becky sends Asuka back to the floor and drops on her with a forearm. Back to the ring, Becky hits a leg drop from the second rope for a two-count. Both women are down after double clothesline. Asuka hits a back elbow, a clothesline, a German Suplex sends Becky to the corner and hits more quick kicks for a close two-count. Becky counters and tries to use the ropes for the pin. Asuka gets her boot up as Becky drops from the top rope. Asuka puts on the armbar but Becky rolls to the ropes.

Becky drops Asuka’s face on the ropes. Asuka meets her at the top and hits a superplex for a near fall. Asuka misses a hip attack. Becky uses the ropes to work on Asuka’s arm. Asuka drops Becky to the floor with a hip attack. A kick to the face and a knee strike follows. Becky lands in Bianca’s lap. Asuka goes for a roundhouse kick and catches Bianca with it. Becky slams Asuka’s face into the announce table. Becky returns to the ring and Asuka also beats the referee’s count. Asuka is still loopy though. Becky pins her to get the win.

Winner – Becky Lynch

Asuka is complaining after the match while Becky celebrates on the ramp. Bianca is still down as the show goes off the air.
