Big Title Match, New Day’s Farewell Announced for SmackDown
The WWE Universal Championship and a farewell match for New Day is announced for WWE SmackDown episode for next week on 16 October 2020.
Roman Reigns Defends Title Against Braun Strowman
Before he will defend Universal title at Hell in a Cell, Roman Reigns will have to face Braun Strowman at SmackDown next week. Earlier, Roman pinned Strowman at Payback to win the title in a triple threat match. Since then, Strowman is only seen on WWE RAW which raised the speculation that he might be moving to the red brand during this draft.
That will only get clear on Monday when night 2 of 2020 Draft gets completed on RAW. Regardless, WWE has announced that Strowman will get a title shot on SmackDown 16 October 2020 episode.
New Day’s Farewell Match
As reported earlier, The New Day was split during the Draft 2020. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made their triumphant return last night by winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. However, they were in for a shock when Kofi and Woods were picked up by RAW but Big E was left behind and was picked by SmackDown later.
On next week’s SmackDown, New Day will get a farewell after spending more than three years on the blue brand. They were moved to SmackDown during SuperStar Shakeup in April 2017. The New Day trio will face Sheamus, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura in a 6-man tag team match.
