Saraya’s In-ring Return Announced for AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV
Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, will be making her in-ring return at AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV.
In a promo on this week’s AEW Dynamite, Saraya revealed to Britt Baker that she is medically cleared to wrestle and will make her in-ring return and AEW debut against Baker at AEW Full Gear.
Saraya retired from in-ring action in 2018 after multiple neck injuries while still being contracted to WWE. She continued to work in different on-screen roles in WWE. Her last appearance in WWE came in March 2020 when she announced a six-pack match for SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Saraya’s deal with WWE expired in July this year, and she signed with AEW after that. She made her debut AEW Dynamite Grand Slam episode to save Toni Storm from an attack from Britt Baker, Serena Debb and Rebel. Saraya and Baker have been involved in a feud ever since.
However, the status of Saraya’s in-ring return was still under wrap until her announcement on Dynamite this week. The match against Britt Baker at Full Gear will be her first wrestling match since a tag team match on December 27, 2017, at a WWE House Show. The difference between these two matches will be 1788 days.
AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV will take place on November 19 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. 9 matches including Jungle Boy vs Luchasaurus Steel Cage match are announced for the show. Keep tuned in for more news and updates.
