NJPW will return with Wrestling Dontaku 2022, 18th event in Wrestling Dontaku Series, on May 1, 2022. The event will return to Fukuoka Dome(Fukuoka Pay Pay Dome) in Fukuoka for the first time since 2001.
Kazuchika Okada will defend IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Tetsuya Naito in the main event. A new US Heavyweight Champion will be crowned as Hiroshi Tanahashi takes on Tomohiro Ishii. Tama Tonga challenges Evil for NEVER Openweight Championship while Taiji Ishimori challenges El Desperado for the Junior Heavyweight title. Tag team titles will be contested in a three-way match.
