After demolishing Roman Reigns last week at RAW, Drew McIntyre has challenged him to face him at WrestleMania. Although there was no confirmation for the match yet from WWE, Reigns is likely to accept the challenge.
Last week, the Scottish Psycopath attacked Reigns before his match against Baron Corbin which left Reigns in no condition to work the match. This also lead Dean Ambrose to challenge McIntyre for a Falls Counts Anywhere match which McIntyre won by brutally assaulting Ambrose. This week, McIntyre was announced to face the third member of the Shield, Seth Rollins.
As Brock Lesnar came out on RAW this week, McIntyre asked him to find another opponent for WrestleMania as he would be destroying Rollins in their match. Rollins attacked McIntyre from behind with a steel chair before leaving setting his eyes on Lesnar. Before their match at the main event of the show, McIntyre cut a promo saying that Roman Reigns might have won the match with Shield at Fastlane but he has become slow since coming back from Leukemia and challenged him for a match at WrestleMania. Rollins cut him midway to his promo by appearing on the screen and as he made way to the ring, McIntyre met him at the entrance to start a brawl.
As the match started, McIntyre controlled the first part by keeping him grounded with an arm-stretch time and again. However, in the second part of the match, the Kingslayer used his trademark speed and athleticism to get the upper hand. After a superplex and falcon arrow combo, Rollins looked prime to win the match but a distraction from Lesnar gave McIntyre the opportunity to hit Rollins with the claymore kick to get the win.
Now, we will have to wait till next week to see Roman Reigns accepting the challenge. WrestleMania 35 will take place at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on 7 April this year. For the updated match card from WrestleMania, please click here.
