Drew McIntyre Arrives to India, Praises Indian Cricket Star
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre has arrived in Mumbai, India, and has praised the Indian Cricket Star for his performance in the ongoing T20 Cricket World Cup.
McIntyre defeated Karrion Kross at WWE Crown Jewel 2022 event in a steel cage match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday. He revealed on Twitter on Sunday that he has landed in Mumbai. Later, he posted a tweet praising Indian Cricket star Suryakumar Yadav.
The Scottish Psychopath wrote, “I’ve just touched down in Mumbai and Suryakumar Yadav has just proved he’s the best T20 player in the world right now. Destiny? Take a bow, Sky!”
Indian Cricket Team faced Zimbabwe in the T20 Cricket World Cup group stage match in Melbourne, Australia, on Sunday. Suryakumar Yadav scored 61 runs off just 25 balls in a Player of the Match performance. Indian Team were able to beat Zimbabwe by 71 runs to top Super 12 Group 2 and made their way to the semifinals.
This is not the first time that WWE Stars have praised the Indian Cricket Team. With Cricket being the biggest game in India, and with India being the second biggest market for WWE, we have seen several promotional endeavors and crossovers.
A few months back, NXT Star and former North American Champion Carmelo Hayes was trending in India for being a look-alike of Indian Cricket Star Hardik Pandya. The Rock narrated a video advertisement for India vs Pakistan Cricket World Cup match while promoting Black Adam. Paul Heyman irks Cricket fans regularly with some tweets related to the Indian team.
