CM Punk Teams with Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite, Earns MJF Rematch
The fans got to see a dream team of CM Punk and Jon Moxley in action at this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
CM Punk suffered his first loss in AEW at the hands of MJF last week on Dynamite. Wardlow played a major role in that outcome as he handed the diamond ring to MJF to take a shot to Punk in the finish of the match.
This week, MJF cut a promo on his big win and how he was aiming towards the AEW World Championship. Punk came out to the stage with Sting and Darby Allin. laden with baseball bats. Punk called out how the finish was not clean and gave MJF the ultimatum to accept a rematch or get beaten up by them.
MJF responded that if Punk wants a rematch, he would have to find a partner other than Sting or Darby to beat FTR in a tag team match. Earlier, Punk defeated Wardlow and Shawn Spears in separate singles matches to get his first match against MJF.
The mystery partner later turned out to be Jon Moxley. The two teams presented an exciting match which ended with GTS from Punk on Cash Wheeler and Paradigm Shift from Moxley on Dax Harwood. This was the first time ever that Mox and Punk teamed up in and outside of AEW. They previously have been opponents in WWE multiple times.
With this win, Punk has now earned himself a rematch against MJF. It is expected that the rematch would come at AEW Revolution 2022 PPV next month.
