AEW Signing 2022: List of New Additions to AEW in 2022

All Elite Wrestling has been expanding their roster since the first quarter of last year and the early signs in 2022 also seem to be that the company are looking for more value additions in the roster.

Here is the list of new signings in AEW in the year 2022.

1. Brody King

  • First Appearance – AEW Dynamite January 12 episode – Joined Malakai Black in attacking Penta El Zero M and Varsity Blondes
  • Debut Match – Kings of the Black Throne(Malakai Black & Brody King) defeated Varsity Blondes(Brian Pillman JR. & Griff Garrison) at AEW Dynamite January 19, 2022 episode

Brody King was the first wrestler to be signed by AEW from the ROH roster after ROH released all their wrestlers in December 2021. He joined the House of Black with Malakai Black. The pair was earlier working as a tag team in other independent promotions.

2. Danhausen

Danhausen has a surprise debut in AEW at Beach Break Dynamite special on January 26, 2022. He has since allied with Orange Cassidy and Best Friends in their stable. He was previously signed with ROH until December 2021.

3. Keith Lee

  • Debut Match – vs Isiah Kassidy at AEW Dynamite February 9, 2022 episode(Face of Revolution Qualifying match)

Tony Khan has announced that a new signing will face Isiah Kassidy on the Dynamite episode of February 9. It turned out to be none other than “The Limitless” Keith Lee. Lee destroyed Isiah Kassidy in his AEW debut match which was also the qualifier for the face of the Revolution Ladder match.

4. Shane Strickland(Isiaih “Swerve” Scott)

There is a report from Fightful Select that AEW has signed Shane Strickland. He appeared at AEW Revolution to make his signing official. He faced Tony Nese in his debut match at AEW Rampage episode of March 11.

5. Buddy Mathews(Buddy Murphy)

First Appearance – AEW Dynamite February 23, 2022 – Aligned with House of Black to attack PAC and Penta Oscuro.
Debut Match – AEW Revolution Pre-show – House of Black vs PAC, Penta Oscura & Erick Redbeard

Buddy Mathews appeared on AEW Dynamite after the match between Kings of the Black Throne and PAC & Penta. Mathews joined House of Black as he attacked PAC & Penta. AEW announced shortly afterward that he has signed with the company.

6. Jeff Hardy

  • Debut Match – AEW Dynamite – March 16, 2022

Jeff Hardy announced in an interview with Jared Myers that he has signed with AEW. He debuted in AEW on March 9 episode of AEW Dynamite when he came out to save Matt Hardy, Darby Allin and Sting from Andrade’s stable. His debut match in AEW came the following week in a tag team match against Private Party.

7. William Regal

William Regal has come to AEW in a mentor/manager role for Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. He came out as a surprise at AEW Revolution after Bryan vs Moxley match when they were on the warpath. He went on to slap both of them to put some sense in them and united them as a tag team.

8. Toni Storm

  • First Appearance – AEW Dynamite – March 30, 2022
  • Debut Match – AEW Dynamite – March 30, 2022 – vs The Bunny- Owen Hart Tournament Qualifier

Toni Storm made her way to AEW on March 30 episode of Dynamite. She came in as the surprise opponent against The Bunny in the qualifier for Owen Hart Tournament.
