It has been a tense couple of days in AEW since CM Punk aired his grievances openly against AEW EVPs in the media scrum after AEW All Out 2022 PPV.

Punk had openly criticized EVPs The Elite & Adam Page, accusing them of spreading false rumors related to him and Colt Cabana. This led to a backstage altercation between CM Punk and Ace Steel against Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Some reports have come out providing the details on the “melee” backstage.

It is being said that Ace Steel(CM Punk’s former trainer and friend) had thrown a chair that hit Nick Jackson in the eye. He is also said to have bitten Kenny Omega. CM Punk reportedly threw punches as things turned uglier. Later, Dave Meltzer reported that AEW might be dealing some legal issues after this backstage incident.

Some new details have arrived courtesy of Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful. Sapp’s sources believe that CM Punk might have to leave AEW or make “major” amends if he wants to stay with the promotion. More details were shared on Fightful Select on the backstage brawl. As per backstage sources, it was The Young Bucks who approached Punk’s locker room.

It is said that The Young Bucks kicked the door down when Punk didn’t answer the door after his match earlier in the night and an emotional scrum. The report also said that there were rumors about Punk injuring his tricep, but it is believed that the injury happened during All Out main event match against Jon Moxley. The extent of the injury is not clear at this point.

Additionally, Dave Meltzer has reported that none of the stars who were involved in the backstage incident will be on TV on Dynamite this week. AEW will be bringing in other top stars who were not booked earlier to replace them.

It will be now interesting to see how Dynamite will fare without newly crowned AEW World Champion CM Punk and newly crowned Trios Champions Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

Dynamite currently only has two matches announced with Wheeler Yuta defending ROH Pure title against Daniel Garcia apart from Death Triangle vs Orange Cassidy & Best Friends trios match. #1 contender MJF will also address the fans after his return at All Out.
