Big E has become the new WWE Champion after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract for a title match and defeated Bobby Lashley on RAW September 13 episode.

Big E won the Money in the Bank Ladder match to win the MITB briefcase and a contract for a World title match anytime anywhere. He has been teasing the cash-in ever since and even tormented Paul Heyman on SmackDown almost every week to cash in against Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

However, the news broke out by Fightful on Monday morning that Big E is going to feature heavily throughout WWE RAW tonight. WWE has announced a RAW Tag Team Championship match between RK-Bro(Riddle and Randy Orton) and Hurt Business(Lashley & MVP) for this week’s RAW, but the match got changed. WWE brought forward the WWE Championship match between Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton to RAW.

The match was earlier scheduled for Extreme Rules. It was speculated that WWE is doing this in answer to AEW Dynamite beating WWE RAW in the demographics ratings. But as the things folded out on RAW, those speculations were put to rest.

Big E tweeted on Monday morning that he intends to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on RAW tonight. He opened WWE RAW as he came out for a promo segment with Orton and Lashley. He once again reiterated his desire to cash in as Orton and Lashley got into a verbal spat.

The title match went ahead in the main event and Orton was very close to defeat Lashley after he hit an RKO. But MVP pulled Lashley to the ropes to save him. Lashley then hit Orton with a spear to get the win and retain the title. Post-match, Lashley attacked Orton and Riddle but injured his leg in the process.

Big E ran out with a referee to cash in his World title contract. After a bit of back and forth, Big E hit Lashley with a spear and Big Ending to get the win.

Big E is also a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, multiple times Tag Team Champion and NXT Champion.
