Battle of the Belts 2 Spoilers, Results, Live Updates

AEW will returns to TNT with Battle of the Belts 2 Saturday Night Fight Night special on April 16, 2022. The event will feature three title matches, which are pre-taped with AEW Rampage this week at Curtis Culwell Center.

ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham will come to AEW to defend against Dalton Castle. Nyla Rose will be the first challenger for AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa while Scorpio Sky will defend his TNT Championship against Sammy Guevara in a rematch.

Scorpio Sky(c) vs Sammy Guevara – AEW TNT Championship Match

They trade chops in the middle of the ring. Sammy hits a dropkick. Scorpio goes to the floor. He drives Sammy into the apron and barricade. Sammy sends Scorpio into the steel steps. Sky comes back with a TKO on the ropes.

Sky is in control as we return. Sky hits a backbreaker. He hits it two more times before putting on the spine stretch. Sammy drops Sky with clotheslines and hits a standing Spanish fly for a two-count. Sky hits a leaping mule kick. He goes to the top but Ethan Page pulls out Sky from the ring. Tay Conti argues with Page. Sammy takes out both Sky and Page with a shooting star press. Sky gets a two-count with a small package.

Sammy hits an Enziguiri and a double jump cutter, but Sky kicks out. Sky stops a roll up by grabbing the ropes but Tay removes his hold. Paige Vanzant unloads on Tay. In the ring, Sky rakes Sammy’s eyes. Sammy hits a low blow on him when the referee gets distracter. Sammy hits a GTH to get the pin and the win.

After the match, Sammy and Tay celebrates in the ring.

Jonathan Gresham(c) vs Dalton Castle – ROH World Championship Match

They lock-up and Castle grabs the ropes to avoid a hammerlock. Castle wrenches the arm before Gresham takes him down with a side headlock. Castle moves to the floor immediately to avoid it. Castle takes Gresham down with a double leg. Castle swings around Gresham in gutwrench position before dropping Gresham with a slam. Castle nails a back elbow and a clothesline. Gresham avoids a corner splash. They avoid each other as they run the ropes. Gresham brings him down with a hurricanrana. He hits a dropkick to take us to a break.

Castle is taking a break on the floor as we return. Castle hits a hurricanrana on Gresham when he comes down. They duck each others’ chops and clotheslines. Gresham nails an elbow. Castle drops him with an overhead throw. He hits a belly to belly suplex. Another overhead throw follows for Castle to get a two-count.

Gresham hits a big boot in the corner. Castle for the bangarang but Gresham rolls him up for a two-count. They trade pin attempts in quick succession. Gresham hits an enziguiri. Castle hits a lariat. Gresham stomps at his feet and puts on the Octopus stretch to get the submission.

Winner – Jonathan Gresham

Jay Lethal comes out with Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt. Satamna drops the Boys with double chokeslams. Castle is sent into the steel steps. Satnam gets into the ring. Lethal hits Lethal Injection on Gresham while he was distracted by Satnam. Lee Moriarty and Matt Sydal are also beaten up when they come in. Samoa Joe comes out with a lead pipe. Satnam is getting ready for a fight but Dutt and Lethal takes him away.

Thunder Rosa(c) vs Nyla Rose – AEW Women’s Championship Match

Nyla dominates from the start. She sends Rosa to the floor and drives her into the barricade. Rosa drives her into the ringpost and then hits a bulldog on the floor. Rosa drives her into the barricade. A missile dropkick follows as they return to the ring. Rosa hits more kicks and a sliding lariat. Rosa unloads with chops and punches. Nyla nails her with a headbutt. She unloads with body shots before unloading in the corner. Rosa uses a low bridge to send Nyla to the floor. Nyla catches Rosa’s hurricanrana and drops her on the apron with a powerbomb. We cut to a break.

They are trading shots in the middle as we return. Rosa hits a dropkick and a stunner. She hits double knees into the corner and a dropkick. Rose is on the floor. Rosa hits another dropkick. She hits tornillo dive on the floor. Back to the ring, Nyla catches her crossbody. Rosa avoids getting slammed but Nyla picks her up and nails a bit shot. He sets up Rosa on the ropes but Rosa avoids it and nails another dropkick in the corner.

Nyla hits short arm clotheslines. Back and forth action before Nyla drops Rosa with a big clothesline. Nyla hits a jackhammer type move to get another two-count. Rose avoids a senton on the apron. Rosa gets a two-count via roll-up. Nyla hits a powerslam for another two-count. Rosa hits a hurricanrana and holds on for the rana pin to get the three count.

Winner – Thunder Rosa

After the match, Rosa celebrates in the crowd as the show goes off the air.

Sammy Guevara vs Scorpio Sky TNT Title match opens the show. Sammy Guevara wins TNT Championship back via pinfall after a lowblow. The crowd was booing him hard. The match also saw Ethan Page and Dan Lambert getting involved. Tay Conti and Paige Vanzant also brawled.

Jonathan Gresham retained ROH World title against Dalton Castle.

After the match, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt came out with Satnam Singh. They destroy Castle and the Boys. Gresham faces off with Satnam Singh but Lethal attacked him from behind. Matt Sydal and Lee Moriarty come out to save, but Satnam takes them down. Samoa Joe comes out with a lead pipe. Dutt and Lethal make Satnam leave the ring. Joe drops Dutt as he was leaving. Gresham and Joe shake hands to end the segment.

Thunder Rosa defeated Nyla Rose via roll-up to retain AEW Women’s Championship.
