Backstage Update on MJF’s Contract Status with AEW

MJF Reveals His Stipulations for the match against Cody Rhodes

According to the latest reports, MJF is still frustrated and is not coming close to a new deal with AEW regarding his contract.

Fightful Select reported that MJF didn’t have a formal talk with the promotion so far regarding a potential new deal. The Long Island native reportedly not addressed any precursory from the promotion.

It is also noted that AEW President Tony Khan might be willing to pay him a somewhat similar amount he is paying to the other top stars of the promotion. However, it will only happen if MJF gets ready to extend its contract.

At present, MJF only wants AEW to increase his pay but he doesn’t want to extend the length of his contract. Last week, reports came out that MJF is frustrated with AEW and he might not re-sign with the promotion when his current deal expires in 2024.

WWE has already shown interest in MJF and the latter has also shown interest in going to WWE on several occasions. Currently, MJF is involved in a feud with his former ally Wardlow and will face him at AEW Double or Nothing PPV on May 29, 2022.
