AEW has announced World Title Eliminator Tournament for this year with the final taking place at AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV event.

The tournament has become a tradition in the lead-up to Full Gear from the past two years with the final match taking place at the PPV event itself. The winner of the tournament gets the AEW World title shot at Winter is Coming event in December.

Kenny Omega won the 2020 tournament by defeating Adam Page in the final. He later defeated Jon Moxley at Winter in Coming 2020 to win AEW World Championship. In 2021, Bryan Danielson won the tournament after defeating Miro in the final at Full Gear. Adam Page was able to retain the World title after Danielson’s title shot resulted in a time-limit draw.

This year’s tournament will start on November 2 episode of Dynamite. Dante Martin was announced as the first participant in the tournament. Ethan Page also announced himself for the tournament during this week’s Rampage episode. 3 round knockout style tournament will end with the final match at AEW Full Gear 2022 PPV.

The winner of the tournament will get the title shot at Dynamite Winter in Coming 2022 special on December 14, 2022, at Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX.

AEW Full Gear PPV will take place on November 19, 2022, at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Jon Moxley will defend AEW World Championship against MJF at the same event. AEW World Tag Team Championship trilogy match between The Acclaimed and Swerve in Our Glory is also scheduled for Full Gear.
