AEW Dynamite January 18: Danielson-Bandido, Starks-Hager Set
AEW has announced two singles matches for AEW Dynamite January 18, 2023 episode.
Bryan Danielson will have to win a match on every Dynamite episode until February 8 in order to become the #1 contender for AEW World Championship. If he manages to fulfill this deal, he is set to face MJF in a 60-minute ironman match at AEW Revolution 2023 PPV.
In the first match in this series, Danielson defeated Konosuke Takeshita this week on Dynamite. Next week, he is set to face Bandido in another singles match.
Bandido debuted at AEW in September when he faced Chris Jericho for ROH World Championship. Since then, he also had matches on Rampage and Dark, but he only had one more appearance on Dynamite which came in World Title Eliminator tournament semfinal in a defeat to Ethan Page.
In the other match, Ricky Starks will face Jake Hager as he and Action Andretti continue their rivalry with Jericho Appreciation Society. This week, Starks and Andretti interrupted JAS promo. Hager boasted about his undefeated record in MMA, but Starks rebuffed him with insults on the mic.
This rivalry started with Starks turning down membership for JAS and later defeated Chris Jericho in a singles match. It is expected that this rivalry will lead to Action Andretti and Ricky Starks facing some members of JAS in a tag team match later.
