The headliner pair of Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez is coming off losses against other top fighters of this division. Brian Ortega lost to the Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanowski while Rodriguez is coming off a loss against recent title challenger Max Halloway.
A lot is at stake as Dana White has promised a title shot for Rodriguez if he wins here. The same might be true for Ortega also to secure a rematch against Volkanowski.
