Derrick Lewis vs Chris Daukaus UFC Fight Night

UFC is looking to book Derrick Lewis(25-8-1) vs Chris Daukaus(12-3-0) heavyweight match on Fight Night event on December 18.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first one to report the news of this heavyweight bout. Dana White also stated that the promotion is thinking of finalizing Derrick Lewis vs Chris Daukaus for an yet-to-be-announced event on December 18.

Chris Daukaus is on a five-fight winning streak and is yet to face a defeat in his four bouts in UFC with all wins coming via KO/TKO. He recently defeated Shamil Adburakhimov at UFC 266 via second-round TKO. His other three wins came against Aleksei Oleinik(first round TKO) in February this year, Rodrigo Nascimento(45 second KO) in October 2020, and Parker Porter(first round TKO) in UFC debut in August 2020.

This will be first main event for Daukaus in UFC. He has recently jumped to number 7 in UFC Heavyweight rankings.

On the other hand, Derrick Lewis must be looking to get back on a winning track after losing an interim UFC Heavyweight Championship match against Cirly Gane at UFC 265. This loss saw his four fight winning streak snapping.

Lewis defeated Curtis Blaydes(third round TKO), Aleksei Oleinik(second round TKO), Ilir Latifi(unanimous decision), and Blagoy Ivanov(split decision) in those fights.
