Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira are all set to face-off in the main event of UFC 267 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. But what will happen if some unforeseen situation forces either of them to withdraw?

UFC is keeping #2 ranked Light Heavyweight fighter Jiri Prochazka ready to replace either man at UFC 267.

MMA Fighting and MMA Junkie have confirmed via their sources in UFC that Jiri Prochazka will serve as the backup fighter for the Light Heavyweight Championship bout at UFC that is currently scheduled to take place on October 30 in Abu Dhabi.

Prochazka defeated the former title contender Dominick Reyes in his last fight which served as the main event of the 1 May 2021 UFC Fight Night event. Former GCF and Rizin FF Light Heavyweight Champion has quickly become one of the most talked-about performers with the help of his spectacular performance.

The Czech Republican fighter is currently on a 12-fight winning streak which started back in 2016. Prochazka signed with UFC in 2020 and has collected knockout victories over other Light Heavyweight title contenders Volkan Oezdemir and Dominik Reyes.

Currently, Prochazka is expected to travel to Abu Dhabi and cut his weight in order to prepare for the event just in case Jan or Glover wasn’t able to compete. There is also a possibility that he might face the winner of UFC 267 main event in the near future.

UFC 267 will likely be a non-PPV event as UFC is looking to air it on ABC Network. Earlier, it was also reported that this event might air for free on ESPN and ESPN Plus streaming service. Apart from the main event, Aljamain Sterling vs Petr Yan II and Islam Makhachev vs Rafael dos Anjos bouts are also announced for the event.
