Bellator Moscow Main Event Set With Fedor Emelianenko & Tim Johnson
The Last Emperor, Fedor Emelianenko (36-9) is all set to face former UFC fighter Tim Johnson (15-7) in the main event of Bellator Moscow.
MMA Junkie has reported and Bellator has confirmed that the former PRIDE champion Fedor will square off against the challenger for Bellator interim heavyweight title, Tim, at the upcoming event which will take place on October 23 at VTB Arena.
Emelianenko hasn’t competed since 2019. In his last match, he got the first-round TKO victory against Quinton Jackson at Bellator 237.
Fedor Emelianenko’s current record in BMMA is 3-1 and his one and only loss came by the hands of Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader. Ironically, Tim Johnson also has a record of 3-1 in Bellator. Valentin Moldavsky, a protégé of Emelianenko, was the only person to defeat Johnson in Bellator.
Fedor Emelianenko announced his return on June 25. However, it got postponed due to severe health issues during the pandemic. After this announcement, a lot of fighters showed their interest in fighting Fedor but ultimately Bellator decided to match him up with Johnson who is currently ranked at number 2 in the official Bellator heavyweight rankings.
