Alex Pereira vs Sean Strickland Targeted for UFC 277

According to reports, Alex Pereira vs Sean Strickland Middleweight bout is being targeted for UFC 277 which is scheduled to take place on July 30. 

Brett Okamoto of ESPN reported that the verbal agreement between both fighters had already taken place for a middleweight bout, and now they only have to ink the deal. 

Alex Pereira is waiting for his chance to face the Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya inside the octagon. He has already defeated Adesanya several times in kickboxing. 

However, before facing the champion, he has to go through the top-ranked contender in the form of Sean Strickland. Pereira started off his UFC career with a second-round TKO win against Andreas Michailidis. He recently defeated Bruno Silva earlier this month at UFC Fight Night 203. 

However, the third match of Pereira will be his toughest one so far. Sean Strickland is on a six-fight winning streak and is coming off a split-decision victory against Jack Hermansson at UFC Fight Night 200. 

If Alex Pereira defeats Strickland, he will have a huge boost in his UFC rankings and will also get one step closer to challenging the Middleweight champion.
