Tommy Fury Out of Jake Paul Fight, Tyron Woodley Replaces Him

Tommy Fury

Tommy Fury has pulled out of the fight against Jake Paul and will be replaced by former UFC fighter Tyron Woodley.

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury grudge match was set to headline December 18’s Showtime PPV event. But, Fury, brother of Heavyweight Champion Tyson, has withdrawn from the fight, reportedly due to an injury.

The Love Island star was supposed to head to Florida this week to train with Tyson Fury and coach SugarHill Steward. However, Fury has been suffering from a cold for the most part of his training camp for this bout. Fury has been undefeated until now by winning all of his seven professional bouts.

Jake Paul has been suspicious all along that Fury would withdraw from the bout. During the press conference last month, Paul told Fury several times to just show up for the fight, “Make sure you show up. Just make sure you show up.”

However, the Problem Child might be happy now as he faces Tyron Woodley for a rematch. Paul defeated Woodley back in August which was his first bout that went into a decision. He has won his 3 bouts before that via knockout.

Woodley asked for a rematch immediately but Paul told him to get “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo. After some drama, Woodley got the tattoo on his middle finger. But, Paul refused the rematch and moved on to the fight with Fury.
