PXB Pheonix Battle 87: Taniguchi vs Ishizawa 2 Results, Undercard
Masataka Taniguchi will have his WBO Strawweight title on the line in the rematch against Ishizawa on April 22, 2022, at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo at PXB Pheonix Battle 87 event.
The pair clashes once again 2 and a half years after their clash at the same venue where Taniguchi got a unanimous decision win to hand Ishizawa his first professional loss. Ishizawa has since won 4 bouts in a row.
Taniguchi has won the WBO Strawweight title in December last year from Wilfredo Mendez. This will be Taniguchi’s first title defense.
However, the title will not be on the line for Ishizawa after he missed weight yesterday weighing at 110 pounds against 105 pounds limit. If Taniguchi loses, the title will be vacated. The event will not air in US, and will only air in Japan via PPV on Abema and other services.
