Jermell Charlo and Brian Castaño will collide in a rematch for the undisputed Light Middleweight Championship on May 14, 2022, on a PBC & Showtime boxing event.

The headliner fight is a rematch from their first bout from July 17, 2021 which ended in a split draw. Charlo(34-1) entered the bout as the WBA(super), WBC and IBF Light Middleweight Champion while Castaño is the WBO title holder for the same division.

For Charlo, this will be the 7th overall defense of the light middleweight title. He lost the WBC title to Tony Harrison in 2018, which remains his only professional loss. He won the title back in 2019 and has defended it twice since then while also winning the WBA(super) and IBF belts from Jeison Rosario in September 2020.

Castaño won the WBO title from Patrick Teixeira in February 2021 and jumped into the title unification fight against Charlo just 5 months later. He remains undefeated in this pro-career.

Also on the main card, Jaron Ennis fights Custio Clayton in a featherweight bout while Kevin Gonzalez takes on Emanuel Rivera in a flyweight bout.
