Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder III was certainly one of the best heavyweight title bouts of all time as it ended one of the most heated rivalries in boxing. Despite that, the event failed to reach the goal of one million PPV buys.

Bob Arum, the CEO of Top Rank had a chat with iFL TV where he stated that the third match performed better than the second one on pay-per-view. According to him, Tyson Fury is a huge star in the US, also now more people know about him compared to the time when he had the second match of the trilogy.

Their second match had a total of 850,000 PPV buys, whereas the third one ended under 600,000 domestic purchases with an additional 300,000 overseas purchases. Thye cost to buy this PPV event was $79.99.

It seems like the PPV will end up in a break-even even with ticket sales of $10 million. Tyson Fury defeated Deontay Wilder in the eleventh round via knockout to end their long-lasting rivalry.
