There have been a lot of rumors circling around regarding whether Mike and Maria Kanellis tricked WWE by not telling them about the pregnancy before they signed the new deal. But that may not be the case.
The Kanellis couple appeared this week on RAW and challenged the Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch for a mixed tag team match. However, Maria revealed during the match that she was pregnant and did not compete in the match. She went on to berate Mike Kanellis during the match which led to their loss.
It was later confirmed by multiple sources that her pregnancy was legit and not an angle. But, there were several wrestling news portals and fans who were of the opinion that the Kanellis couple did not tell WWE about the pregnancy until after they signed the new deal.
Now, Wrestling Inc is reporting that Maria and Mike Kanellis signed their new deals back in early June, but they learned that they were pregnant only a week and a half ago. On top of that, WWE was aware that Mike and Maria wanted another child when they were offered their new deals.
The company is apparently trying to make their environment more modernized for working mothers. This is in line with Maria’s earlier comments back in February when she tweeted that WWE was very helping towards her during her first pregnancy.
Yesterday, Maria lashed out on Wrestling news sites for baseless accusations. In a series of tweets, she mentioned that the news sites are being played by their sources who are desperate for attention. She also stated that she plans on working throughout her pregnancy for as long as her doctors approve. She also plans on returning to WWE after having the baby and getting cleared.
