WWE RAW 31 May 2021 Results

WWE RAW episode of 31 May 2021 will continue to build towards Hell in a Cell 2021 PPV with the #1 contender match between Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston and a face-off between Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair. Charlotte Flair & Rhea Ripley on the Miz TV

The show opens with a special package for Memorial Day. Jimmy Smith is on the commentary with Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. They go through the card for the night. We cut to the Miz TV segment with Miz and John Morrison in the ring. Miz hypes himself for a while. Miz gets emotional now and tells us that he got injured in the Lumberjack match at WrestleMania Backlash for the first time in his career.

Miz then asks Morrison what that smell is. Morrison is wearing a chain of garlic as he is not taking any chance and is ready for anything that is coming towards them. Miz then goes to introduce his guests for the night. Charlotte Flair comes out first. She is in her ring gear. Flair talks about Rhea Ripley and says she will send Rhea to Hell in three weeks. Rhea’s music hits and she comes out to the ring. Rhea tells Flair she could go to hell. Rhea and Charlotte face off before Miz and Morrison interject.

Miz asks Rhea what her character is. Morrison asks her what is her favorite garlic recipe to ensure she is not a vampire or zombie or anything. Rhea says she is not a vampire, she is a nightmare. The discussion move towards Rhea’s loss to Nikki Cross last week in Beat the Clock challenge. We get the replay from last week’s match between Cross and Rhea. Nikki Cross comes out now and says she should be the first person to get the title shot. Rhea tells her if the clock had 4 minutes on the clock, she would have beaten her.

Nikki says she respects Rhea. Nikki asks Charlotte if she could beat Charlotte in 2 minutes, then would she be eligible to face the winner between them after Hell in a Cell. Charlotte gets in her face and says she could beat Nikki in one minute. Nikki slaps Charlotte. Morrison gets in between them and stops the situation from getting worse. We go to the break.

Charlotte Flair vs Nikki Cross – Beat the Clock Challenge

Nikki ducks a clothesline and goes out to the floor. Nikki taunts Charlotte from the floor. Charlotte goes to the floor, but Nikki gets back to the ring. Nikki goes out once again as Charlotte returns to the ring. One minute is already over on the clock. Nikki gets behind Rhea, who is at the commentary. Nikki gets back to the ring, and Charlotte follows.

Nikki ducks another clothesline before Flair finally catches Cross with a knee strike. Cross shoves her off but Flair levels her with a clothesline with 30 seconds left. Flair takes Cross to the top but Cross fights back and hits a tornado DDT. Flair drops Cross and goes for the Figure Four but Cross keeps resisting. The clock expires and Cross wins.

Winner – Nikki Cross

Cross celebrates as her music hits. Ripley is all smiles at ringside as she applauds Cross. Flair seethes and blames this on Ripley.

Matt Riddle is backstage with Damian Priest. They talk about WWE returning to tour and how excited they are for the fans to return. Riddle goes to ask Damian to translate some slangs in Spanish. Randy Orton walks in and Priest goes away. Orton says Riddle used his finisher last week to beat Xavier Woods. Riddle goes on to apologize but Randy says he was good in the ring, and if they are going to do this tag team properly, Riddle should learn from him. Orton asks him to be in his corner in the match against Woods tonight. Riddle goes on to say something but Orton asks him zip his mouth. Orton signals zipping his mouth, locking it up and throwing the key away. Orton walks off. Riddle goes to search for the key that Orton threw away.

Randy Orton vs Xavier Woods

Xavier Woods enters with Kofi Kingston before the break. Orton and Riddle enter. Riddle sings along Orton’s theme music. Orton hits the corner to pose and Riddle is copying it on the apron. The bells rings. Orton starts with a headlock. Woods comes out of it and counters the RKO. Woods hits an armdrag and puts on an arm stretch. Orton gets back to his feet and counters Woods in the corner. Woods goes out to the floor now. Orton follows him and slams his head on the announce table for a few times. Orton drops Woods on the announce table with a side suplex. We cut to a break.

Orton has a chin lock on Woods as we return. Woods gets to his feet and hits an elbow to the ribs. He snaps at Orton’s arm to break the lock. Woods hits a dropkick now. Woods hits a flurry of chops and punches. Some back and forth action before Woods hits a big forearm strike to get two-count. Orton is selling an arm injury. Woods gets on top in the corner and unloads with punches to Orton’s head. Orton picks up Woods to hit a powerbomb for a near fall. Woods looks rocked now. Orton goes for the draping DDT but Woods counters and hits double knees to the midsection.

Woods puts on an armbar on Randy’s injured arm. Orton comes out of it and goes for the RKO. But his injured arm gets in the way. Woods gets a two-count with a backslide pin. Orton gets Woods in the Piledriver position before hitting the Bro-Derek to get the pin.

Winner – Randy Orton

Riddle is excited at Orton using his finisher. Riddle comes into the ring to celebrate with Orton as his music hits.

We get the replay from last week where Reginald cost the match to Shanya Baszler and Nia Jax and how Shayna snapped at Reginald to challenge him for a match. We cut back to the arena and Shayna enters for the match against Reginald.

Shayna Baszler vs Reginald

Reginald tries to talk to Shayna, but she is not listening to anything. The bell rings, and Shayna charges at him. Reginald dodges him a few times before Shayna catches him with a tackle. Reginald catches Shayna with a rollup for a two-count. Shayna hits another tackle. Reginald surprises Shayna with a power slam for another two-count. Shayna hits another tackle and hits wheelbarrow on Reginald’s left leg.

Shayna goes on to work on Reginald’s leg now. Shayna puts on pressure on the injured leg with locks and stomps. Shayna puts on an ankle lock now. Reginald counters and sends Shayna into the turnbuckle. Reginald drops Shayna. He goes for a moonsault but misses it and injures his leg more. Shayna catches him in the Kirifuda clutch. Suddenly, pyro goes off and Reginald catches Shayna with a double leg cradle pin to get the win.

Winner – Reginald

Reginald runs away as soon as the match ends. Shayna is pissed off and asks him to come back to the ring. Reginald goes to the back and joins Nia Jax in the Gorilla position.

We cut to Drew McIntyre in the locker room. Kevin Patrick interviews him. Drew talks about saving Kofi from MVP’s cane shot and helping him win against Lashley. He takes shots at Kofi and brings up Drew defeating Lesnar, something which Kofi has not done ever.

Mace & T-Bar vs Lucha House Party

Lince Dorado starts against T-Bar. T-Bar drops Dorado to start, but Dorado hits a dropkick and tags in Metalik. Metalik drops on T-Bar with a splash from the ropes. T-Bar overpowers him quickly, and Mace tags in to hit a double team clothesline. Mace with an elbow drop as he continues to assault Metalik. T-Bar comes in to hit another elbow drop for a two-count. T-Bar and Mace corner Metalik and keep control with quick tags.

Lince saves Metalik from another double-team move. Lince manages to low bridge Mace to the floor. Lince goes for a suicide dive, but Mace catches him and hits a big spinebuster on the floor. T-Bar catches Metalik with a big boot. Mace comes in to hit a double chokeslam to get the pin and the win.

Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke vs Lana & Naomi

Lana and Dana Brooke start the match by running the ropes for a few times. Lana brings down Dana and Naomi tags in for a leg drop to get a two-count. Dana counters and Mandy tags in for double team back body drop. Mandy with a slam from waistlock to keep Naomi on the mat. Naomi counters in the corner and drops Dana from the apron. Naomi drops Mandy on her knees. Lana tags in. Naomi and Dana fight to the floor. Lana and Mandy go back and forth in the ring for a while. Mandy drops Lana and Dana tags in for a double team daimond cutter to get the pin.

Winners – Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke

Cedric Alexander vs Shelton Benjamin

Shelton starts with a big boot. Shelton gets Cedric on his shoulder but Cedric rakes his eyes. Cedric hits nueralyzer immediately to get the win. That was quick. The match finished in under a minute.

Winner – Cedric Alexander

Cedric goes to the ramp after the match and continues to shout at Shelton from there.

We cut Elias and Jaxson Ryker backstage. Elias talks about AJ Styles and Omos and the tag team title match, which is next. Ryker is not responding and is staring in the blank. Elias asks him if he is listening, and if he has his back as they are going in the war. Ryker asks him if has ever been in a war, because he has served in Iraq.

AJ Styles & Omos(c) vs Jaxson Ryker & Elias – WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Match

Elias attacks AJ from behind to start. Elias takes AJ to the corner and unloads with chops and punches. AJ gets his boot up in the other corner and goes on to hit several punches. AJ hits a snap suplex to get a two-count. Elias also hits a suplex to get back control. Elias with a knee drop on AJ and tags in Ryker. AJ hits forearms on Ryker. Ryker whips him to the ropes, but AJ slides out and trips Elias on the apron. Ryker comes out to the floor and eats a forearm from AJ. AJ hits a basement slide dropkick on both Elias and Ryker to take us to the break.

Ryker hits a suplex as we return. Next, Ryker puts on a headlock. We see Ryker has hit some big shots on AJ during the break. AJ gets to his feet, and Ryker whips him into the turnbuckles. Ryker puts on another chin lock. AJ gets elbows to the ribs, and a Pele kick to bring him down. Ryker goes to tag Elias, but Elias moves away from the corner. Ryker is shocked and asks Elias what he is doing. Omos tags in.

Omos grabs Ryker’s head and drops him. Omos whips him hard into the corner a few times. Omos charges at him with a big elbow. Elias watches from the ramp as Omos continues to beat down on Ryker. Omos hits a short clothesline and tags in AJ for him to hit the Phenomenal Forearm to get the win.

Winners – AJ Styles & Omos(retains RAW Tag Team titles)
