WWE NXT Heatwave August 16, 2022 – Match Card & Preview
WWE is set to present a special edition of NXT titled “Heatwave” on August 16, 2022. It will feature a stacked card as three titles will be on the line.
Bron Breakker will defend the NXT gold against JD McDonagh. Mandy Rose will collide against Zoey Stark for Women’s Championship. Carmelo Hayes will fight Giovanni Vinci to defend North American title. Moreover, two grudge matches in Jade vs Perez and Escobar vs Angelo will also take place. Bron Breakker vs JD McDonagh – NXT Championship
JD McDonagh attacked Breakker right after he successfully defended his title at the Great American Bash. McDonagh wants to re-shape the NXT by taking the title away from Breakker. During the Heatwave summit, Breakker stated that he becomes an animal whenever he puts his title on the line. Meanwhile, McDonagh smiled and signed the contract with his own blood to show that he is just as rustic as Breakker. Will the Irish Ace be able to dethrone Bron Breakker?
Mandy Rose vs Zoey Stark – NXT Women’s Championship
Zoey Stark returned to NXT after missing almost nine months of action. She competed in the #1 contender battle royal and earned herself a title shot against Mandy Rose. The latter has been holding the title for more than 270 days. Will the leader of the Toxic Attraction stay on top, or will Stark finally end her dominating title reign?
Carmelo Hayes vs Giovanni Vinci – NXT North American Championship
Carmelo Hayes hosted an open challenge for his NXT North American title for the bravest person on the NXT roster. Giovanni Vinci appeared to challenge Hayes, but before he entered the ring, he was attacked by Nathan Frazer, who then faced Hayes for the title. Vinci made sure Nathan lost that match and challenged Carmelo Hayes the following week. Hayes accepted his challenge and made the match official for NXT Heatwave.
Roxanne Perez vs Cora Jade
The former NXT women’s tag-team champions Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade will settle their dispute in a singles match. Cora Jade turned on Perez during her title match against Mandy Rose. Jade even put the tag-team title in the trash can. Perez has been chasing Jade ever since then. So, will Roxanne Perez be able to take her revenge against Jade in the grudge match?
Santos Escobar vs Tony D’Angelo – Street Fight
The fate of Legado del Fantasma and Santos Escobar’s NXT career will be on the line when Escobar collides against Tony D’Angelo in a singles match. If Escobar wins, then Legado del Fantasma will no longer be a part of the D’Angelo Family. However, if the Don wins, Santos Escobar has to leave NXT. So, will Escobar be able to overcome the odds to win this high-stakes street fight?
