WWE has announced a new #1 contender match for WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship for SmackDown episode of November 11, 2022.
Ronda Rousey currently holds the women’s title on the blue brand after winning it from Liv Morgan at Extreme Rules event last month. She has since defended it against Emma through an open challenge.
WWE has now announced a 6-pack challenge match to find the new #1 to be crowned for Ronda. The match will involve Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi, Sonya Deville, Lacey Evans and Xia Li.
Liv Morgan and Sonya Deville have been feuding with one another since Morgan lost the title last month. The pair first met in a singles match where Morgan was able to get win. Sonya continued to taunt Morgan that she did not deserve to be the champion when she won it back in July. This led to an attack from Morgan and a No Disqualification match between them where Liv won once again.
Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi were last involved in Women’s Tag Team Championship match which they lost to Damage CTRL. Shotzi had a short stint with NXT where she became the host of the Halloween Havoc event before a match against Lash Legends. Xia Li appeared in a segment last week to mock Emma on her loss to Ronda. Lacey Evans last appeared on SmackDown in September when she lost to Morgan in a singles match.
It is interesting to see that Shayna Baszler is not involved in this match. Shanya seems to be returning to her older character in NXT and has been playing off as Ronda’s friend in the last few weeks. It remains to be seen if there are any plans in place for them to face off in near future.
WWE Smackdown episode of November 11, 2022, will air from Cricket Wireless Store in Indianapolis, IN.
