USA Network Upset With WWE RAW Ratings, Want Darker Content

The new record low for WWE RAW Ratings has not sit well with the officials at USA TV Network.

WWE RAW TV Ratings

This week’s WWE Monday Night RAW was the go-home edition for WWE TLC 2020. Even going into a PPV, the show drew an average of 1.527 million viewers which is the lowest in the history of the show.

In the 18-49 demographic, the show got just a 0.41 rating which is also the lowest for the show. Also, RAW was beaten by the previous week’s AEW Dynamite in the 18-49 demo ratings each hour.

After the rating and viewership came out, WWE Officials were reportedly stunned with the numbers. WrestleVotes also reported that the record low numbers were not sitting well with the higher hierarchy of WWE.

In another update by Alex McCarthy of Talksport, there was a similar reaction at the USA Network regarding RAW ratings. As per their source, USA Network is furious with the ratings and wants changes in the show. The network reportedly wants more adult content- dark and violent in nature.

WWE Programming is a major investment for USA Network with them investing more than 220 million dollars per year. That comes to approximately $4.5 million per episode of RAW. So, the low viewership will definitely create shock ripples in the network.

McCarthy further stated that WWE officials are hoping that Royal Rumble 2021 PPV can serve as some kind of a “big reset” for the company. Royal Rumble 2021 is not announced yet but is likely to take place on 24 January or 31 January 2021.
