In a shocking development, The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa has won NXT North American Championship.

He defeated the incumbent champion Carmelo Hayes on NXT 2.0 first anniversary episode on September 13, 2022, to end Hayes’ 100 days title reign.

WWE earlier announced that NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes’ opponent for this week will be chosen via online fan poll. Wes Lee won that poll and was scheduled to face Hayes in the main event of the show. However, Hayes and Trick Williams attacked Lee backstage and the injuries led to Lee being unfit to take part in the title match.

For the main event, Hayes and Williams went out to the ring and talked about Wes Lee for a while until they got interrupted by Solo Sikoa’s music. Sikoa came out and challenged Hayes for the title match. After a hot start for Sikoa, Hayes turned things around by working on Sikoa’s knee injury. Sikoa returned late into the match with hot streak and got the win by hitting The Usos Splash.

The return of Solo Sikoa was a shock in itself after he started appearing on SmackDown with the Bloodline. Sikoa made his WWE Main Roster debut at Clash at the Castle event when he helped Universal Champion Roman Reigns against Drew McIntyre.

Sikoa also faced Drew McIntyre on SmackDown last Friday in a singles match, which ended in a disqualification. It remains to be seen in what capacity he continues to feature on SmackDown and NXT going forward.

Solo Sikoa becomes the fourth member of The Bloodline to hold a title in WWE now. The Usos holds unified WWE Tag Team Championships apart from Roman’s Undisputed Universal Title. Check here for the list of current WWE Champions. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
