Shinsuke Nakamura To Face The Great Muta at NOAH New Year Event
WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura will head to Pro Wrestling NOAH for a big match against The Great Muta.
Pro Wrestling NOAH announced via Twitter that fans will see one of the biggest dream matches in 2023. Nakamura will face The Great Muta at NOAH: THE NEW YEAR 2023 event at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, on January 1, 2023.
The pairing is interesting in the fact due to a couple of reasons. First, it will be the first that Nakamura and Muta will face off in the ring. Second, WWE allowed Nakamura to appear in Pro Wrestling NOAH to appear for the show. This is certainly a new direction under the new management led by Triple H.
NOAH’s The New Year event series started in 2022 and is considered the biggest yearly event for NOAH. 2023 event will be just the second event in the series and will be airing through ABEMA PPV.
Keiji Mutoh is currently in his retirement tour under the Great Muta persona. He will have his final NJPW match on November 20 at NJPW x Stardom Historic X-Over event. He will team up with Kazuchika Okada and Toru Yano to face United Empire’s Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb and Aaron Henare.
The Great Muta’s final match will take place on January 22, 2023, at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s The Great Muta Final Bye-Bye event in Yokohama, Japan. He will team up with Sting in that match. Their opponents are yet to be revealed.
