NXT Results- 17 April 2019: Dream vs Murphy, Baszler vs Sane

Here are the results and updates from the pre-taped episode of NXT from 17 April 2019.

• Velveteen Dream (c) defeated Buddy Murphy in an NXT North American Championship match. A good match with a lot of counters. Twice it almost reached the count out. Dream hit the fame-asser and the Purple rainmaker to get the win.

• Street Profits were with NXT GM William Regal to ask for an opportunity. NXT Tag Team Champions War Raiders walk out and say they have heard what the Street Profits have been saying and announced that next week the two teams will meet in the ring.
• Johnny Gargano came out to a thunderous response and talked about becoming champion at TakeOver, but was interrupted by the Undisputed Era. Cole said he would have beaten Gargano if it was any other match. Gargano asked him if he was getting emotional since his “little boy band” was having trouble. Roderick Strong attacks Gargano from behind and rest of the group combined to take down Gargano.

• Dominik Dijakovic beat Aaron Frye after a spinning kick. Post-match, Dijakovic makes his intentions clear to go for the NXT North American Championship.
• William Regal told the Undisputed Era that next week, Roderick Strong will face Johnny Gargano.
• Backstage promo from Aliyah and Vanessa Borne who said that LeRae just got lucky to get the win last week because they were too busy in New York and next week LeRae should find a partner for a tag match.
• Shayna Baszler won against Kairi Sane with a DQ. Sane started strongly before the match settled into a regular rhythm. As Sane went for the Kabuki Elbow, Baszler dodged her and Sane arm strikes the barricade. Baszler then locked her arm and Sane reached the ropes to force a break after some struggle. As Sane moved out of the ring, the referee checked on her which also brought out Io Shirai. Baszler took Sane back to the ring and was going for the twisted arm stomp when Shirai attacked her to cause the DQ.
• Post-match, Baszler and Shirai started brawling. Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir joined the attack to take down Shirai and Sane.
