Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Raquel Rodriguez Make WWE SmackDown Debuts
Three NXT stars made their debut at SmackDown on this week’s show.
Gunther(Walter), the head of Imperium, made his debut with Ludwig Kaiser(Marcel Barthel). Kaiser was introduced and appeared on the stage to introduce Gunther. Gunther was involved in a squash match next where he defeated an enhancement talent Joe Alonzo in a minute or so.
The news about Marcel Barthel’s renaming to Ludwig Kaiser was leaked earlier tonight. And despite being unclear who it is meant for, the news met with backlash online right away. Walter was also renamed to Gunther earlier this year, which also faced backlash from fans online.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Rodriguez(Raquel Gonzalez) also made her SmackDown debut. Rodriguez was courted backstage by Los Lotharios who introduced themselves and wanted to do their signature double kiss. Rodriguez told them to take the hike.
Rodriguez recently lost the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship to Toxic Attraction on NXT 2.0 episode earlier this week. She, along with Dakota Kai, won the tag titles at NXT Stand & Deliver last weekend only.
