AEW Grand Slam Rampage 2022 Match Card & Line up(Sept 23, 2022)
AEW Rampage edition of Grand Slam 2022 event will air on September 23, 2022. The two-hour show will be pre-taped at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, NY.
A series of matches are already announced for Grand Slam Rampage edition(includes spoilers from this week’s Rampage also). The matches announced for the show include a No Disqualification match between House of Black’s Buddy Mathews and Brody King vs Sting and Darby Allin.
The two factions have been feuding for months now. Sting, Darby and Miro defeated Malakai Black, Mathews and King in a trios match at All Out. Black has left AEW since, but King and Mathews have continued their feud with Sting and Darby. They confronted Sting and Darby after Darby defeated Matt Hardy on Rampage tapings. A No-Disqualification tag team match was agreed between them after this.
Hook will team up with Action Bronson to face 2Point0 – Matt Menard and Angelo Parker in another tag team match. Hook defeated Parker to retain his FTW title at All Out. However, 2Point0 once again confronted Hook, which led to Action Bronson coming to his aid. Bronson then agreed to tag with Hook to face the tag team at Grand Slam.
AEW TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill has continued with her undefeated streak with her latest title defenses. Diamante appeared to challenge her for the title match next and the match was made official.
AEW TNT Champion Wardlow will team up with ROH TV Champion Samoa Joe to take on Josh Woods and Tony Nese. Both champions have been feuding with Woods, Nese and their manager Mark Sterling for a while now. Wardlow saved Joe from a post-match attack on Rampage episode of September 16 to set up this match.
A Golden Ticket Battle Royal will crown the new #1 contender for AEW World Championship. “Hangman” Adam Page, Penta El Zero Miedo, Lance Archer, Jay Lethal and Dark Order members are announced for the battle royal. Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara will settle their rivalry with a singles match. The same goes for Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks. Jungle Boy takes on Rey Fenix in another exciting match.
