AEW Dynamite episode of June 22, 2022, will be the go-home edition for AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door PPV. The show will air from Panther Arena in Milwaukee, WI. Bryan Danielson will reveal his future for Forbidden Door and Blood & Guts.
We will also hear from Christian Cage on his heel turn against Jungle Boy. Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi takes on Chris Jericho and Lance Archer. Orange Cassidy & Roppongi Vice will face Will Ospreay & Aussie Open. Penta Oscuro faces Malakai Black in All Atlantic Championship qualifier match.

Will Bryan Danielson be at Forbidden Door?
Bryan Danielson comes out to the ring and takes the mic. He hypes Forbidden Door and Blood & Guts before informing that he is not cleared to compete on those shows due to attack from Chris Jericho and Jake Hager in the Anarchy in the Arena match. He will be back soon in action though. Bryan then tells us that he has picked up a guy just like him to take on Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door and to team up Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley and others at Blood & Guts. He is not going to reveal that name right now, and will only be revealed at Forbidden Door. Bryan hypes up this guy some more to end his promo. Zack Sabre Jr. comes out to the stage and screams at Bryan for a while.
Jon Moxley cuts a promo against Jericho Appreciation Society and for his match against Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Orange Cassidy, Trent Baretta & Rocky Romero vs Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis
Romero and Fletcher start the match with a lock up. Beretta tags in quickly and hits Fletcher with a shoulder tackle. Davis comes in and hits a big boot. Beretta hits a German suplex before bringing in Cassidy. Cassidy hits a missile dropkick with his hands in his pocket. Beretta hits suicide dives to start a sequence where everyone starts to get involved. Ospreay and team took over control against Baretta as we cut to a break.
Baretta hits a snap German suplex as we return from a break. Cassidy tags in and hits lazy kicks on Aussia Open. He hits double hurricanrana on Aussia Open, another hurricanrana on Davis and a tornado DDT on Fletcher. He mocks Ospreay to get into the ring. Ospreay charges but Romero and Baretta send him to the floor. They hit suicide dive on United Empire trio. Romero hits leg drop on Ospreay after Baretta puts him on the ropes.
Ospreay nails Cassidy with an enzuigiri. Cassidy comes back with stundog millionaire. Romero and Davis tag in. Romero hits a hurricanrana. Davis drops him with a massive chop. Fletcher tags in for double team powerbomb, but Romero kicks out. Romero counters with a sliced bread. Everyone starts to get involved unitl Roppongi Vice hit Fletchers with double jumping knee. Ospreay hits a superkick on Baretta and Davis hits him with a spinebuster. Ospreay is taken out on the floor with a crossbody from Romero.Baretta hits a DDT on Fletcher. Cassidy tags in and hits Orange Punch on Fletcher to get the pin.
Winner – Orange Cassidy, Trent Baretta & Rocky Romero
Jeff Cobb and Great O’Khan come out to stand with Ospreay and Aussie Open. They look to attack Cassidy and Roppongi Vice but FTR comes out to even the odds. All of them stare down at each other to end the segment.
Backstage, Jay Lethal is with Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh. Lethal issues an ultimatum to Samoa Joe to show up or vacate the ROH Television Championship.
Christian Speaks
Tony Schiavone is in the ring and brings out Christian Cage. Christian says he was not going to let Jungle Boy eliminate him from Casino Battle Royal last year and get away with it. But the more concerning thing was the reaction from the crowd, who cheered when he got eliminated. Christian goes on a rant about toxic social media and them not knowing anything about this business. He reveals that he was accompanying Jungle Boy for an easy payday by giving him advice. Cage says Jungle Boy doesn’t have the killer instinct.
Schiavone asks Christian about the trash talk with Jungle Boy’s mother last week after the show went off the air. Christian says his mother wanted Christian to be Jungle Boy’s father, but he only has one father and he is dead. Luchasaurus comes out but Christian talks him out of attacking him. Luchasaurus calms down and turns back. Christian gives an evil smile behind his back before he joins Luchasaurus into exiting.
The Young Bucks and Kyle O’Reilly are backstage. They announce that Bucks will team up with Hikaleu and El Phantasmo to take on Sting, Darby Allin and two more wrestlers.
Penta Oscuro vs Malakai Black – All Atlantic Championship Qualifier
Black misses a back heel kick. Penta hits a superkick. Black comes back with a kick to force Penta to the floor. Penta avoids a moonsault and hits a suicide dive on Black. He is selling a back injury after that dive. Back to the ring, they go a bit of back and forth. Penta hits a backstabber for a two-count. Black counters with a pin attempt with a roll-up. Penta hits a DDT. Black goes to the floor. Penta is suckered to the floor where Black rams him into the barricade and apron. We cut to a break.
Penta hits a crossbody after a quick sequence. They are on the apron where Penta hits a big chest slap. Penta goes for a piledriver but his back gives up. Black misses a heel kick and Penta nails him with superkick. Black avoids another Fear Factor but runs into a rolling cutter from Penta. Penta puts Black to the top and sets up for Fear Factor but once again Black counters it.
Black gets hits a diving double foot stomp for a two-count. Black goes to the top and Penta nails him with an enzuigiri on the top itself. Penta hits avalance Fear Factor but could not roll over to pin Black. Penta goes for a pin after recovering but Black gets his foot on the ropes. Penta goes for another move but his back gives up again. Black hits Black Mass kick to get the pin.
Winner – Malakai Black
PAC comes out to the ring and have a face off with Black. Miro appears on the big screen and throws a warning to Black, PAC and Tomohiro Ishii before their match at Forbidden Door.
Wardlow cuts a promo saying that he wants to win the TNT title and tells Scorpio Sky that he will be waiting for him when he is ready to return to the ring.
Adam Page vs Silas Young
Adam Cole comes out to the commentary. Silas Young makes his AEW debut to face Adam Page tonight. Page makes his entrance. The bell rings and Page starts with arm wrench. They counter each others’ arm wrench. They start a sequence of bridges and pin attempts. Page nails Young with a knee to the face to end that sequence. Page sends Young to the corner and hits a chop. Young hits back with a big chop of his own. Page hits an overhand chop. They end up on the floor and Page drops Young with a big clothesline. He hits a moonsault on the floor to take us to a break.
Page drops Young as we return from the back. They go back and forth with strikes. Page hits fallaway slam and kips up to his feet. Page hits clothesline in the corner before countering to hit another clothesline on the apron. Page brings Young back to the ring to hit another clothesline from the top. Young hits a backbreaker and a clothesline to get a two-count. Young hits driver before missing a moonsault. Page hits a clothesline and Buckshot lariat to get the pin.
Winner – Adam Page
Adam Cole immediately takes over with the mic on the stage. He is also cut off quickly by Jay White. White says he owes Cole an explanation for snubbing him for a title shot. White says he is responsible for making Forbidden Door PPV as big as possible. White says Cole can’t be his opponent since Cole lost to Page twice. He heads to the ring now. White tells Page that he won’t be his opponent at Forbidden Door.
Page attacks White and was looking for a buckshot lariat. Cole hits him with a lowblow. Cole and White beat up Page for a while. Cole was looking to run over White with the IWGP world title but White turns around in time. Kazuchika Okada comes out to even the odds now. Okada and Page beat up White and Cole until they are forced to run away. Okada and Page stare down each other in the ring to end the segment.
Jade Cargill, Stokeley Hathaway and Keira Hogan are backstage. They are looking for more Baddies as Red Velvet is injured. Stokeley asks everyone to send their resume.
Back from the break, Athena and Kris Statlander mock The Baddies search.
Marina Shafir vs Toni Storm
Shafir starts with a big boot to knock Storm back. Shafir goes for cross armbreaker but Storm gets her legs to the ropes. Shafir continues to be in control. She hits a kick to the chest to send Storm to the floor. Shafir distracts the referee and Nyle Rose hits senton on Storm on the floor. We cut to a break.
They trade shots as we return. Storm hits a headbutt but Shafir then kicks her out to the floor. Shafir brings her down on the floor with judo throw. Storm comes back with a DDT on the floor. Storm blocks a Judo throw and hits a German suplex. Storm hits a hip attack in the corner. Storm counters a pumphandle slam to get the pin.
Winner – Toni Storm
Nyla Rose attacks Storm after the match. Shafir gets on top on Storm for ground and pound. AEW Women’s Thunder Rosa attacks Shafir and Nyla. Storm hits a chop block on Nyla and Rosa nailed her with an enzuigiri. Storm has the title now. She hands it back to Rosa before they stare down briefly.
Darby Allin and Sting are backstage and tell us they will team up with Shingo Takagai and Hiromu Takahashi to take on The Young Bucks and Bullet Club.
Jon Moxley & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Chris Jericho & Lance Archer
Moxley and Jericho fight on the outside. Tanahashi and Archer fight in the ring. Tanahashi hits a low drop kick on Archer. Archer hits a full nelson slam to take over control. Jericho hits chops and punches to take Tanahashi to the corner. Tanahashi hits back with his own punches. Jericho hits a bulldog into the turnbuckle. Tanahashi sandwiches him in the corner.
Moxley hits Jericho with a snapmare and nails elbows on the neck. Moxley clotheslines Jericho to the floor. He slams Jericho’s face into the apron and sends him into the barricade. Mox rakes the back before throwing Jericho back to the ring. Archer distracts the referee and Sammy grabs Mox’s leg to allow Jericho to hit him with a springboard kick. Archer tags in and drops Moxley with a tackle to take us to a break.
Jericho is in control against Mox as we return. Mox fires his chops but Jericho hits him with ax handle. Mox gets his knees up on the Lionsault. Tanahashi tags in and unloads on Jericho. He hits a flying elbow before knocking off Archer. Tanahashi hits a springboard crossbody, a scoop and a slam and a senton on Jericho to get a two-count. Jericho reverses a double underhook but he is unable to put on Liontamer. Jericho hits a codebreaker and Moxley breaks the pin. Mox hits a tope suicida on Archer on the floor.
Tanahashi and Jericho trade forearms. Jericho misses the judas effect and Tanahashi drops him on his knees. Jericho rolls through the high fly flow and puts on the Liontamer. Tanahashi is under pressure and going nowhere. Mox comes in to hit a cutter on Jericho to break it. Archer comes in and Tanahashi hits him with a slingblade. Mox and Archer get the legal tag. They trade elbows before Mox counters Bossman slam with Paradigm shift. Tanahashi tags in and hits a frog splash to get the pin.
Winners – Jon Moxley & Hiroshi Tanahashi
Moxley and Tanahashi are locked in a stare down in the middle of the ring. Eddie Kingston attacks Chris Jericho on the floor to start a brawl. Sammy Guevara, Minoru Suzuki, Santana, Ortiz, Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, Wheeler Yuta and many others brawl on the floor. Moxley and Tanahashi are still in a stare down in the ring.

Bryan Danielson’s Injured?: Bryan Danielson reportedly got injured at Double or Nothing during the Anarchy in the Arena match. He has not been in in-ring action since then. Bryan will appear on Dynamite this week to reveal his involvement for Forbidden Door PPV and the upcoming Blood & Guts special.
Why Christian? Why?: Christian Cage turned on Jungle Boy last week after Jurassic Express lost the tag team titles. He will reveal the reasoning behind his attack on Jungle Boy this week on Dynamite.
Tanahashi & Moxley: Before their match for the interim AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door, Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi will team up to take on Chris Jericho and Lance Archer. Will they get some momentum before their big match?
Penta vs Black: House of Black and Death Triangle will continue their rivalry with another match in the All Atlantic Championship qualifier. PAC has already qualified for the match along with Miro and Tomohiro Ishii. Who will be the last person to join the data 4-way title match?
NJPW vs AEW Tag Team Match: Will Ospreay and Orange Cassidy will be facing off for the IWGP US title at the PPV on Sunday. Before that, they will team up with Aussie Open and Roppongi Vice, respectively.
