AEW Dynamite episode of April 6, 2022, will begin the Owen Hart Men’s Tournament qualifying matches and will continue the Women’s Tournament qualifying matches. This week’s Dynamite episode will air live from the Agganis Arena in Boston, MA. 

ROH & AAA tag-team championships will be on the line as FTR defend the titles against the Young Bucks. The Hardys and The Butcher & The Blade will settle their dispute in a tables match. The event will also feature Christian Cage going one-on-one against Adam Cole for the very first time. Also, Samoa Joe will debut in AEW with this show against Max Caster in Owen Hart Tournament Qualifier.

Adam Cole vs Christian

The energy in the crowd is high. Duelling chants before they lock up. Christian pushes Cole to the corner and the referee calls for a break up. Side headlock from Christian and Cole switches it to a hammerlock. Christian hits a shoulder tackle. Cole hits kicks to the midsection. Christian counters a slam with a kill switch attempt but Cole moves to the floor. Cole runs around to bait Christian, but Christian cuts him off with a clothesline on the floor.

Christian hits chops before coming back to the ring. Cole slips out of the top and knocks off Christian from turnbuckle with a kick. On the floor again, Cole whips Christian into the barricade and then into the steel steps. We cut to a break.

Christian cuts off a charge and sends Cole to the floor. He dives on Cole on the floor. Back to the ring, they trade a few punches before Cole hits an enziguiri. Cole comes down from the top rope to land on Christian’s boots. Christian unloads on the top before a sunset flip for a two-count. Cage with more quick moves and hits a tornado DDT for a two-count. Cole misses an enziguiri. He stops Kill Switch before hitting a backstabber.

Christian hits another DDT but misses a splash from the top. Cole hits Boom but Christian kicks out. Cole has not pulled off his knee pad before that move. Christian nails some punches before Cole catches him with a superkick midair for a near fall. Christian hits a headscissors takedown from the top turnbuckle for a near fall. Cole goes for Panama Sunrise but Christian counters. Cole misses Boom but Christian hits a spear for another near fall. Cole rakes his eyes and hits Boom to get the pin.

Winner – Adam Cole

After the match, ReDragon attacks Christian. Jurassic Express runs out for a save. Both teams go brawling to the back. AEW World Champion Adam “Hangman” Page comes out. Cole tells him he only wants to fight when it is for the title. Page gets into the ring and says there is a live Rampage show next week. But, the match will be on his terms and will be a Texas Deathmatch.

We get a recap of how ROH Supercard of Honor ended with Samoa Joe making a save on ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham. Joe walks about for his match now. The crowd is hot for him. Max Caster comes out with Anthony Bowens, insulting Joe in his rap.

Samoa Joe vs Max Caster – Owen Hart Tournament Qualifier

Joe starts with jabs before stomping on Caster in the corner. Joe hits big chops, whips Caster to the other corner and hits an enziguiri. Joe hits a snapmare and a chop at the back. He nails an elbow drop. Caster slips to the floor and Joe hits a suicide dive. Joe gets distracted by Bowens and Caster unloads on Joe. Joe hits a big tackle before hitting a muscle buster to get the pin and the win.

Winner – Samoa Joe

Sanjoy Dutt and Jay Lethal are backstage and appear on the big screen. Lethal accuses Joe of not answering to his call for the last 4 months, but he seems to be only answering to billionaire. Jay says he will give him a big gift next week on his arrival to AEW.


Back from the break, Blackpool Combat Club are interviewed by Tony Schiavone, who announces matches for them for Rampage – Bryan vs Baretta and Mox vs Yuta. William Regal says he is filled with excitement and he feels sorry for Trent Beretta, but Wheeler YUTA has impressed him and impressed Danielson. Only things remains is to impress Jon Moxley, who is hardest to impress. Mox talks about bones cracking on Rampage.

Captain Shawn Dean vs Shawn Spears

Spears hits a backbreaker after the lock up. Spears stomps in the corner before dumping Dean to the floor. Spears brings him back and hits a big chop. Dean turns it around and hits more chops. Spears comes back with a neckbreaker. He goes for the pin but stops in between.

He takes Dean on his shoulders, but the camera zooms to backstage where the security is all down. Spears drops Dean when he sees Wardlow is making his way to the crowd. MJF is pissed off at secutiry. Wardlow runs through security one by one. In the ring, Dean rolls up Spears and get the pin.

Winner – Captain Shawn Dean

After the match, Wardlow is smiling at the result while security escorts him out. Dean celebrates on the ramp before going to the back quickly.


Best Friends are interviewed backstage. Yuta has his ROH Pure title with him. Chuck Taylor tells Wheeler YUTA that he can be great wrestler even if he stays with them, and do not need to go to Blackpool Combat Club. Taylor talks about how they have let him crash on his couch and paid for the tights. Trent Beretta says he doesn’t like Yuta and take notes when Baretta faces Danielson on Rampage and learn something.

Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti come out to the stage during the picture in picture break with the cue cards.


Eddie Kingston comes out with Santana and Ortiz. Kingston tells JAS to keep running as he will come for them at their house and everywhere else. Santana and Ortiz also takes shots at JAS before calling them out for a 6-man tag team match next week at Dynamite. Eddie promises to dump them.


Tony Schiavone brings out TBS Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Mark Sterling. Tony Schiavone talks about Cargill’s Baddies section. Cargill takes the mic and says she will introduce her baddies section. She is proud of herself. Sterling says Marina Shafir was not allowed in Boston. They run down Shafir on the mic for a while.


Shawn Spears and MJF are backstage for an interview. MJF snaps at the mention of Wardlow’s match. He tells Wardlow that there will be twice more security next week and dares him to come down. MJF then tells Shawn Dean of giving him a beating next week.

The Hardys(Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy) vs The Butcher & The Blade – Tables Match

Jeff sends Blade into a table. Butcher drops Matt on the floor and comes into the ring. He sets up a table but Jeff stop German suplex. Matt comes in to hit double DDT on Butcher. They set up Butcher on a table, but Blade trips Jeff on the top turnbuckle. Butcher drops and sends Matt to the floor. The Butcher and the Blade hits double team suplex/tackle combo on Jeff to put him through a table. We cut to a break.

After the break, Matt Hardy is slamming Butcher with a steel chair. Jeff was eliminated with that move before the break. Matt hits a splash on Butcher through the table to eliminate him. Butcher drops Matt on the floor and hits him with a chair on his back. Butcher and Blade set up Matt on a table on the outside. Matt gets into the crowd as Blade climbs to the top.

The Butcher and The Blade work on Matt and hits a suplex on him. Jeff has pulled out the table to save the match. Jeff dives on Blade. He takes down Butcher and hits a double leg drop. He hits a Twist of Fate on Blade. Matt also hits a Twist of Fate on Blade. Jeff brings out a ladder and rams into the Butcher and the Blade. Hardys set up Blade on a table on the floor. Jeff climbs to the top and hits a Swanton bomb on Blade through the table to get the win.

Winner – The Hardys

Andrade comes out after the match with Private Party and the Bunny. They walk down the ramp slowly. Sting comes out with his baseball bat. Private Party attacks him but gets taken down. Andrade decides against attacking Sting. Both sides face off as the segment ends.

Christian is backstage with AEW Tag Team Champions Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. Christian goes to say something but gets frustrated and throws away his water bottle. Christian leaves. Jungle Boy tells ReDragon that their record not good enough for another title shot, but they challenge them for a title match at Rampage next week.

Hikaru Shida vs Julia Hart – Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier

Hart rushes Shida with an attack before the bell. Varsity Blondes ask her what she is doing. Hart tells them to go away. Shida counters a handspring splash and sets up Hart on the top turnbuckle. Shida hits a knee to the midsection. She hits a big boot. Shida sets up a chair on the floor and jumps from it for a dropkick. Back to the ring, Hart drops Shida as we cut to a break.

Shida hits clubbing blows as we return. She hits a running knee strike in the corner and follows with a suplex. She pulls Hart from the apron for a superplex. Hart rakes her eyes and hits a bulldog for a two-count. Hart goes to the top but misses a senton. Shida hits spinning knee and falcon arrow for the pin and the win.

FTR vs Young Bucks: The current ROH and AAA tag-team champions FTR will defend both the tag titles on the forthcoming episode of Dynamite against one of the best tag teams in the world in the form of Young Bucks. 

The Hardys vs The Butcher & The Blade: Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy have been feuding with The Butcher & The Blade of the AFO ever since Jeff made his AEW debut. Now, they will be looking forward to settling this dispute as The Hardys will face them in a tables match on April 6. 

Christian Cage vs Adam Cole: Two former title challengers Christian Cage and Adam Cole will face each other for the very first time in a singles match next week on AEW Dynamite.

Owen Hart Tournament Qualifier: Samoa Joe will make his AEW debut to face Max Caster in the qualifier for Owen Hart Foundation Tournament qualifier. Hikaru Shida and Julia Hart will face-off in the women’s qualifier.
