WrestleMania 38: Reigns Beats Lesnar, Becomes Undisputed Universal Champion

Roman Reigns reigned supreme as he defeated Brock Lesnar won the championship unification bout in the main event of WrestleMania 38 Night 2 to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Brock Lesnar completely dominated Reigns in the initial moments of the match and delivered three belly-to-belly suplexes. After that, he chased Heyman outside the ring but was speared by Roman Reigns through the barricade. 

After eating two superman punches, Brock Lesnar countered the third one and then delivered five consecutive German suplexes to Roman Reigns. Later in the match, when the referee was out, Reigns hit Lesnar with a low blow and a blow with the Universal title for a near fall. Roman Reigns survived F5 and Kimura lock before he hit another devastating spear to Brock Lesnar and got the pinfall. 

The feud between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns started when Lesnar returned at the SummerSlam PPV event. On the following SmackDown episode, Lesnar stirred the pot by claiming that Paul Heyman is still his advocate.

Reigns defeated Lesnar at Crown Jewel with the help of the Usos. Lesnar was fined and suspended when he beat up the WWE crew and manager Adam Pearce in pursuit of Roman. A rematch was scheduled for WWE Day 1 when Lesnar returned. Reigns went on to fire Paul Heyman when he came to know that Heyman knew about Lesnar’s return.

Heyman joined Brock Lesnar again at Day 1 and helped Lesnar become a part of the WWE Championship match on the event when Roman pulled out due to COVID-19. Lesnar won the WWE Championship at Day 1. He defended his title against Lashley at Royal Rumble, but Roman Reigns cost him the match and the title. Paul Heyman also joined Reigns back when Roman offered to hand him the WWE title to use it on Lesnar.

Brock Lesnar then won the Royal Rumble match and also won the WWE Championship back at WWE Elimination Chamber. As a result, WWE booked a title vs title winner takes all title unification bout between the Beast Incarnate and The Tribal Chief. 

Roman Reigns is now the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion as he walked out of WrestleMania 38 with two titles on his shoulders.
