AEW Dynamite episode of April 20, 2022, will feature one of the most stacked cards. Hook will have his first match on Dynamite. Meanwhile, the qualifiers for Owen Hart Men & Women’s tournament will continue. The event will take place at the Petersen Events Center, Pittsburgh, PA. 

Jungle Boy will collide against Kyle O’Reilly and Dr. Britt Baker DMD will face Danielle Kamela in Owen Hart Tournament qualifier matches. Wadlow will go one-on-one against The Butcher, CM Punk will face Dustin Rhodes in a singles match, and Darby Allin and Andrade El Idolo will collide in a Coffin match. Not only that, Tony Khan will also make a huge announcement.

CM Punk vs Dustin Rhodes

After a lot of back and action, Punk countered with GTS to get the pin. More details to be added shortly.

Winner – CM Punk

Punk signals for the belt again. AEW World Champion Adam Page comes out to the stage for a brief face-off.

Wardlow arrives to the building for the show tonight. He is stopped by the security on the door itself. Mark Sterling tells him that he will be escorted by the security all the time whenever he comes to the shows. And he will be handcuffed all the time.

Blackpool Combat Club vs Dante Martin, Brock Anderson & Lee Moriarty

Yuta and Dante are in the ring to start the match. Dante gets a pin attempt for a two-count. Dante runs the ropes but Yuta cuts him off and takes him to the corner. Bryan comes in and works on Dante in the corner. Dante comes back with quick moves- dropkick, clotheslines and jumping around. Brock tags in and hits a clothesline on Moxley. Moxley hits him back with a half and half suplex. He hits another one to take us to the break.

Moxley is in control against Anderson. Anderson hits a spinebuster. Bryan and Lee tags in. Lee hits big boots on Bryan and Yuta. He drops Yuta with a kick from the apron. He drops Bryan with a flying forearm. He trades uppercuts with Bryan and then hits a back suplex. Moriarty locks in border city stretch. Martin tags in and drops Moxley to the floor to hit a suicide dive. Moxley counters a dive with sleeper and changes it to a bulldog choke.

Moriarty and Anderson try to break it up but Moxley does not let it go. Bryan and Yuta run in and take care of them. Moxley hits a Paradigm shift on Dante to get the pin and the win.

Winners – Blackpool Combat Club

The Undisputed Elites are backstage. They talk about how they all lost their matches last week. Kyle O’Reilly says he will start the turnaround by winning his match against Jungle Boy tonight. Cole try to motivate Young Bucks and talks about issuing an open challenge for next week for a 10-man tag team match.

Back and forth pre-recorded promos between Samoa Joe and the trio of Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh.

Tony Khan comes out to the stage for his big announcement. He brings out the President of New Japan Pro Wrestling Takami Ohbari. Adam Cole cuts off from the stage and says he will be making the biggest announcement. He tells us that on June 26 at United Center in Chicago, AEW and NJPW will present a PPV, “Forbidden Door.” And on Rampage this week, we will get a preview as he battles Tomohiro Ishii.

Jay White comes out and talks about how he sold out Madison Square Garden single-handedly last time NJPW had a joint event like this. He says this is not about NJPW or AEW, this is about The Undisputed Elite and The Bullet Club.

Wardlow vs The Butcher

MJF is in the skybox with Shawn Spears and says Wardlow will not get any music or announcement as he is nobody. Wardlow comes out flanked by the security and still handcuffed. He is announced with a different name. His handcuffs are removed as he comes to ringside. Butcher is already in the ring.

They trade strikes. Wardlow sends Butcher to the floor. Butcher throws in some steel chairs but the referee clears them. Butcher turns it around as Wardlow goes to the floor. He rams Wardlow’s back into the apron after hitting a clothesline. Wardlow stops getting rammed into the ringpost once but Butcher does in second attempt. Back to the ring, Butcher hits a powerbomb but Wardlow kicks out of it at one. Wardlow hits powerbomb and hits it 3 more times to get the pin and the win.

Winner – Wardlow

Eddie Kingston cuts a promo telling Chris Jericho that he will face Daniel Garcia on Rampage this week. Jericho Appreciation Society and Santana & Ortiz will be banned from the arena for this match. Kingston promises so much brutality on Garcia that his family will not be able to recognize him.

Jungle Boy vs Kyle O’Reilly – Owen Hart Foundation Tournament

Some grappling and mat wrestling to start the match. Jungle Boy hits a slap at the chest. KOR puts on the cross armbreaker by bringing him down from the top rope. JB catches the ropes quickly. JB avoid a roundhouse kick after running the ropes and hits a dropkick. KOR trips him with a leg sweep for one-count. JB hits a spinning kick. KOR hits back with a trio of butterfly suplexes and a DDT to take us to the break.

Jungle Boy hits back with kicks. JB with running elbows to drop KOR a few times. KOR hits a kick to the knee. JB sends him to the floor with a back body drop and hits a tope suicida. He hits a big lariat on the floor to drop KOR. He throws KOR back to the ring and KOR hits him with dragon screw leg on the middle rope. JB hits a DDT and puts on the front chancery. KOR pulls him up and puts on a choke. He hits a pumphandle exploder suplex.

JB hits a springboard clothesline. He hits a belly-to-belly suplex, sending KOR into the turnbuckle. KOR works on the arm and takes him to the top. Jungle Boy slips out and unloads on KOR in the corner. JB takes a bot of time showboating. He misses a low clothesline to start a bit of back and forth. KOR puts on an ankle lock. JB counters it and puts on the snear trap. KOR crawls and makes it to the ropes. Jungle Boy goes to the top. KOR trips him with a kick to the ankle. He hits a superplex and then a brainbuster. KOR hits a knee drops from the top to get the pin and the win.

Winner – Kyle O’Reilly

MJF is backstage for an interview. He tells us that Wardlow will face Lance Archer next week. Jake “The Snake” Robert comes in and MJF hands him an envelope with cash for Archer’s services. Roberts cuts a promo before Archer cuts them off and says he does not need any money to face Wardlow.

Hook vs Anthony Henry

Hook picks the ankle and trips Henry. He tosses Henry with an armdrag and then hits an overhead throw. Hook hits a low clothesline. Danhausen comes out from under the ring and tries to curse Hook. Hook remains unaffected. Hook hits big blows to the head and puts on the ReDrum to get the submission win.

Winner – Hook

Danhausen gets into the ring and challenges Hook for a match at Dynamite next week.


Sammy Guevara is in the ring with Tay Conti. Sammy says he is on top of the world being the TNT Champion for the third time. He adds that he will give his everything for the fans forever. Sammy asks the fans why they have turned their back on them the first chance they have got. He asks if it is due to his girlfriend being hotter than any of theirs.

Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page come out with Dan Lambert and take shots at Sammy and Tay. Sky wants a title shot. Lambert says Sammy has thrown away the fans. He says Sammy can either give either of Page or Sky or they can come to the ring and give him a pounding that his girlfriend could only dream of. Sammy agrees for the title match next week at Dynamite, but he also wants a mixed tag team match after that.

Dr. Britt Baker vs Danielle Kamela -Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Qualifier

Back and forth action to start the match. Kamela unloads by dropping Baker into the corner. Baker tries to counter with lockjaw but Kamela avoids it. Kamela puts on a chinlock briefly. She hits a running kick.

Baker takes down Kamela with double leg and unloads. She nails forearms and elbows on Kamela before hitting a slingblade. Baker misses a clothesline before nailing a superkick. She hits a neckbreaker and the curbstomper before putting on the lockjaw to get the submission.

Winner – Britt Baker

Dr. Britt Baker vs Danielle Kamela -Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Qualifier

Daryb attacks Andrade with the skateboard after The Blade tries to take it away. Isiah Kassidy intervenes and takes him down. Andrade stomps him to the floor and goes to the coffin. Darby hits Kassidy with skateboard. Andrade sends him into the barricade. Sting appears in the ground and starts beating up Kassidy and Blade. Darby and Andrade are brawling, following them closely.

They reach stairs and Kassidy nails Sting with a steel chair. Sting no-sells the chair shot and drops Kassidy down from the stairs. Darby hits a low blow on Andrade to set up a dive from Sting on all three opponents. We cut to a break.

Darby counters running double knees in the corner by throwing chair at Andrade. He follows with Code Red. Andrade is on the floor and hits a German suplex. Andrade opens the casket and it has thumbtacks on the cover. Darby stops the lid by his arm, getting hurt by thumbtacks in the process. Andrade suplexes him on a steel crate near the stage. He brings Darby back to ringside and slams him into the steel steps. He breaks the lid off the coffin.

Andrade hoists him on his shoulders and goes to the apron. Darby counters and pushes him to the floor. Darby hits a suicide dive and sends Andrade into the coffin. He slams the lid on Andrade. Andrade’s assistant Jose comes out and Darby hits a backdrop on him on the thumbtack ladem coffin lid. Darby slams the lid on Andrade a few more times and closes it to win the match.

CM Punk vs Dustin Rhodes: CM Punk will be looking forward to keeping his winning momentum when he faces the wrestling veteran Dustin Rhodes next week. 

Hook’s TBS Debut: After being undefeated in multiple matches on AEW Rampage, Hook will now make his TBS debut on Dynamite.

Wardlow vs The Butcher: Wardlow will be in action next week as he faces The Butcher in a singles competition. Will MJF interfere in the match to avenge his loss against Shawn Dean caused by Warlow? 

Darby Allin vs Andrade El Idolo: Darby Allin and Andrade El Idolo will write the next chapter of their rivalry when they face each other in a coffin match next week. 

Owen Hart Tournament Qualifiers: Next week’s Dynamite will feature two Owen Hart Tournament qualifying matches in the form of Jungle Boy vs Kyle O’Reilly and Dr. Britt Baker DMD vs Danielle Kamela.
