AEW Battle of the Belts III Failed to Draw Even 500K Viewers

AEW just registered all-time low numbers for its Battle of the Belts series. 

According to a report by ShowBuzzDaily, AEW Battle of the Belts III managed to draw only 437,000 viewers. Moreover, it has a rating of 012 on 18-49 demographics. As a result, this event finished at #12 on the cable for the night. 

The second edition of Battle of the Belts drew 527,000 viewers, whereas its first edition drew 704,000 viewers. The trend of decrease in viewership and demo ratings continues as the third edition was the least successful one so far. 

AEW Battle of the Belts III was taped on August 5 and was headlined by the ROH championship match between Claudio Castagnoli and Konosuke Takeshita. 

Meanwhile, the event also featured Wardlow defending the TNT championship against Jay Lethal, and Thunder Rosa successfully retaining AEW women’s world title against Jamie Hayter. 

The promotion has already announced that AEW Batlle of the Belts IV will be tapped after the October 7 Rampage in Washington DC. Now, it will be interesting to see whether this event will be able to break this trend or not.
