UFC 281 Officially Announced for October 22 in Abu Dhabi
UFC is all set to return to Abu Dhabi later this year in October as the promotion has officially announced that UFC 281 would take place in Abu Dhabi.ย
The PPV event will take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on October 22, 2022. UFC officially announced this news by sharing a tweet.ย
UFCโs last event in Abu Dhabi was UFC 267 which also took place in October last year. Before that the promotion held UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi which featured Dustin Poirier defeating Conor McGregor.ย
Whereas UFC 267 featured Glover Teixeira defeating Jan Blachowicz via submission to win the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in the main event. The co-main event bout featured Petr Yan vs Cory Sandhagen for the Bantamweight Interim Championship. Petr Yan managed to come out of this thrilling battle with victory.ย
No fights have been announced for UFC 281 so far. However, the rumors are that Islam Makhachev might finally receive a title shot when UFC returns to Abu Dhabi later this year.ย
