Welcome to the Live Results blog for UFC 270: Ngannou vs Gane PPV event, where will cover round by round and play-by-play updates from the main card along with the results from the preliminary card.

There is so much drama around the heavyweight title unification main event where the full-time champion Francis Ngannou takes on the interim champion Ciryl Gane. The narrative of former teammates turned into foes and the situation around Ngannou’s contract are all intriguing points to hype the fight.

The co-main event is no less attraction as Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo clash for the third time in a row over Flyweight Championship. Their last two fights have been war-level bouts. But, with Figueiredo bringing in Moreno’s betrayal of Henry Cejudo, the tension between the two would be different this time around. The undercard is not that attractive, but you never know which fight could spring up a surprise.

Michael Morales vs Trevin Giles – Welterweight Bout

Round 1: Giles starts with calf kicks. Morales replies with a hard low kick and Giles catches him with a jab during that. Giles stuns Morales with a big shot at the face. Giles has put on a bear hug near the cage. After 30 seconds or so, Giles takes down Morales to the mat. Morales adjusts and gets on top. Giles loses his advantage and Morales is onto him. They come to a stalemate with 2 minutes remaining. Morales counters Giles’ jabs wit his own shots. Giles connects a knee and a high kick. Morales catches him with a stiff shot to start a rally of punches on his opponent’s head. This continues for around 15-20 seconds until the referee finally stops the bout.

Decision: Miles Morales defeated Trevor Giles via TKO in 4:06 of round 1.

Said Nurmagomedov vs Cody Stamann – Bantamweight Bout

Round 1: Said starts with quick kicks and big swings. He hits a spinning back fist and a spinning heel kick next. Both men are moving quickly. Cody grabs his leg and attempts a takedown. Said puts on the Guillotine and it’s over.

Decision: Said Nurmagomedov defeated Cody Stamann via submission in 0:47 of round 1.

Michel Pereira vs Andre Fialho – Welterweight Bout

Round 1: Fialho starts with some jabs. He goes for a spinning kick to the head but Pereira jumps on his head with a punch. Pereira charges with a combination, but Fialho defended nicely. Fialho is forcing Pereira to be on backfoot. He is getting his jabs in between. Pereira is trying some kicks in between. Pereira swings big and misses. Fialho lands a couple of uppercuts. Pereira goes for a high knee but could not connect. Fialho is keeping his defensive shape. Fialho lands a couple of punches clean. Pereira with a kick to the body. Pereira slips while attempting a knee strike. Fialho unloads with some punches while he is on his back. Round to Fialho(10-9).

Round 2: Pereira with the first punch in this round. They exchange punches. Pereira is now trying to reach out and lands a stiff punch and an inside low kick. Pereira lands a knee near the cage. They get in a table. Pereira is going explosive with another big shot and then he attempts a scorpion kick. Fialho goes to defend and then counters with left. Pereira is getting more and more aggressive with his punches and knees. He has pinned Fialho against the cage. Back to the middle of the octagon, Pereira attempts a spinning kick. Fialho lands a front kick to the body. Pereira jumps off the cage with a combination. Fialho replies with his combination. Pereira with a front kick. He follows with his jabs. Pereira connects more big shots. He manages a takedown with 20 seconds to go. Round to Pereira(10-9). Overall (19-19).

Round 3: A show of respect before they start the final round. Pereira with low kicks. He tries to jump off the cage again but stops in between. They exchange jabs. Pereira with front kick and low kick. Fialho trying to push him back. Pereira continues pinning low kicks. He tries to grab Fialho’s leg but fails to bring him down. He lands a clean punch a few seconds later. Fialho pins him against the cage for a while. A nice exchange of jabs. Its tough to call who is winning here. Fialho is forcing Pereira to backpeddle while Pereira keeps conecting his shots in between. All this is surrounded by some good exchanges. A front kick from Pereira catches Fialho on the groin with just 30 seconds to go. They resume and circle around for a while. They go for an explosive exchange just as the round ends.

Decision: Michel Pereira defeated Andre Fialho via unanimous decision(29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

Brandon Moreno(c) vs Deiveson Figueiredo – UFC Flyweight Championship

Round 1: Both men are cautious to start. Fig goes for a low kick and Moreno fires back with a jab. Same pattern goes on a couple of more times. Moreno has pinned Fig against the cage now. Fig then pins Moreno on the cage, but it more of a defense. Back to the middle, both men again cautious to engage. Some jabs from both side. fig defends a high kick. Fig lands a low kick but Moreno has landed a right to face in the process. Fig gets a waistlock on as he ducked Moreno’s swing. Moreno does well to get out of that lock. A nice exchange between them. Fig is connecting low kicks that might get him advantage later. Moreno fires with a low kick himself. Fig hits a front kick right to the midsection.

Round 2: Fig grabs the leg early on but Moreno defends well. Both men are missing more shots than they are connecting. Fig looking for a chick in the armor. Moreno catches a high kick and brings Fig down, but could not get complete control. Moreno lands another jab. A nice exchange before Moreno lands a low kick. Fig lands a front kick. Moreno with a nice combo to counter. Moreno goes for a big shot but Fig goes low to catch his leg. Moreno defends well again. A nice combo to the body from Fig. They continue to exchange shots. Moreno lands a stiff punch to the head. They both miss high kicks as the round comes to an end.

Round 3: Fig lands a stiff low calf kick. Moreno goes for a knee but Fig grabs his waist for a takedown. Moreno gets back to his feet quickly. Fig connects a left and Moreno goes tumbling down. He gets back to his feet quickly and lands his shot. Moreno lands another solid jab. Another low kick from Fig tumbles Moreno. Moreno stuns Fig with another solid punch. Fig lands another low kick and Moreno counters with punches. Another exchange is followed by a calf kick from Moreno. With 10 seconds to go, Fig drops Moreno to his knees with a big punch.

Round 4: Fig starts with a low calf kick. Moreno misses a spinning kick. Fig attempts a front kick. Moreno connects to the midsection. Moreno misses a big swing. Moreno connects some shots in the next 30 seconds along with kicks to the midsection. Moreno lands his combo. Fig goes for a takedown with an inside trip but Moreno manages to be on his feet. Fig has a waistlock on against the cage. He lands knees to thighs. Moreno swings wildly as they get away from the cage. Fig lands more low kicks as the round comes to an end.

Round 5: Fig lands a low kick to start. An exchange follows. Moreno brings him down to the mat with a takedown. Fig gets his knees inside to defend and gets to his feet. Moreno counters a low kick with a stiff shot to the shoulder. Fig lands a clean left jab. Moreno fires back with his left jab. A big right drops from Fig drops Moreno to his knees. He quickly lands a high kick. Fig lands another shot and he is getting away quickly as Moreno is trying to counter. A dull phase follows this. The fight comes back alive in the last 30 seconds and gets turned into a brawl. Both men are claiming win here.

Decision: Deiveson Figueiredo defeated Brandon Moreno(c) via unanimous decision(48-47, 48-47, 48-47) to win the UFC Flyweight Championship.

Francis Ngannou(c) vs Ciryl Gane(ic) – UFC Heavyweight Championship Unification

Round 1: Gane goes for a takedown early on, but Ngannou remains on his feet. Gane pins him against the cage for a while. He avoids a punch. They get tangles again for a while. Gane hits a front kick. Ngannou hits body shots. More shots follow but Gane is moving quickly to avoid damage. Gane hits a spinning kick. Gane lands a jab and gets out quickly. Ngannou gets the bear hug on. Gane defends the knee strikes as they continue to tangle near the cage. Ngannou is holding his shoulder in a lock. Back to the middle, Gane lands a front kick.

Round 2: Gane throws a front kick to start. He is keeping himself out of reach. Ngannou his a kick to his leg. Gane tries to run him down. Ngannou with more low kicks. Gane fires back with his low kick. Ngannou almost lands a big uppercut as they exchange shots. Gane lands a few kicks and a big spinning heel kick. Ngannou almost caught him with a big shot to counter that. Gane hits another spinning heel kick. Ngannou’s punch lands on Gane’s elbow.

Round 3: Gane jabs at Ngannou and avoids his uppercut. Gane goes for a front kick and Ngannou takes him down by leg into a body slam almost. He is trying to put on a choke. Gane turns around and Ngannou is on his back. Ngannou throws punches on his head. Gane gets on his feet and tries to go for Kimura lock. Gane is down again but avoids Kimura. Gane lands a spinning elbow to break up the clinch. Ngannou throws some low kicks. Gane hits a high kick. Ngannou manages a takedown and defends a Kimura from Gane. They end the round on the mat.

Round 4: Gane throws low kicks. Ngannou goes to punch in the midsection as Gane continues to throw low kicks. Gane lands a front kick. Gane catches Ngannou’s leg and they get into a clinch again. Ngannou brings him down to the mat. Gane trying to land back elbows. Ngannou keeps control and keeps Gane on the mat. Ngannou manages to land some punches to his face.

Round 5: Gane with a knee and elbow. He lands a low kick. Gane avoids punches from Ngannou. A combination from Gane. A takedown from Gane. Ngannou defends it with a submission attempt. Ngannou takes over the control on the mat. Gane puts on a kneebar. Ngannou adjusts and pins Gane to the mat. They continue to scramble on the mat for the rest of the round. Ngannou spent the last 2 minutes on top of Gane. This might just turn out to be Ngannou’s first decision win.

Decision: Francis Ngannou(c) defeated Ciryl Gane(ic) via unanimous decision(48-47, 48-47, 49-46) to retain UFC Heavyweight Championship.
