UFC 268 was one of the greatest UFC events of this year that featured several high profile fights and hence the event has managed to sell a lot of PPV for ESPN+.

According to John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, UFC’s return to MSG crossed 700,000 PPV buys in the US alone. This figure does not include the PPV buys outside the US. The final numbers that includes the international sales will certainly go around 1M PPV buys for UFC 268.

The main event of UFC 268 featured a Welterweight championship bout between Kamaru Usman. The co-main event featured the rematch between Rose Namajunas and Zhang Weili. The most interesting fight of the event was Justin Gaethje vs Michael Chandler. It is undoubtedly a fight-of-the-year candidate.

UFC 268 became the fourth biggest UFC event of this year. Only two McGregor PPV events and UFC 259 are ahead of this event. Both McGregor vs Poirier PPVs, UFC 257 and UFC 264, garnered around 2 million PPV buys each worldwide.

UFC 259 was headlined by Jan Blachowicz vs Israel Adesanya and did around 800,000 PPV buys in US alone. UFC 261: Usman vs Masvidal II also did around 700,000 buys in US.

UFC has one more PPV event this year in the form of UFC 269 that will take place on December 11 and will be headlined by Charles Oliveira vs Dustin Poirier. It will be interesting to see if the event could cross 1 million PPV buys given the recent surge in Poirier’s popularity.
